Carnanc Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 (edited) I am not married, and have never had a girlfriend, so I don't really know. Edited December 7, 2004 by slywakka250
Balthazor Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 Thanks for the tip. But I am really not in the market for a man. At this point a guy would have to be pretty darn spectacular for me to even consider going out with him.
hopeful1 Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 can't speak from this experience first hand because i've never dated, but i think one can be more prone ot lust while they are engaged. or at least with most people i've been running into lately (even the ones who are seemingly devout catholics), don't really see the big deal of sleeping together while they're engaged, because they "don't really see the difference between engagement and marriage if God has already destined them to be together" personally, i wouldn't even mess with that. i guess cause i've always thought if i do everything that God wants then our marriage will be blest. plus i'm thinking of the example i'd be setting for my future children. I don't know how my future fiance will feel about that tho. but in answer to the poll, when you're dating....
Balthazor Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 I don't know I think that the right person mightt actually make you more chaste. I mean obviously there is a temptation whenever you are dating someone, but if the two of you tackle the temptation together it has to be easier than one person fighting and the other trying to dive in to temptation.
FreakofFaith Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 i'd like to say that my husband has been the only one, but that wouldn't be true. but before i met him, i lived in such a disgusting place that when he pulled me out of there, i thought i could completely leave my past behind. i wish that i could say that i have never checked anyone else out. i wish i didn't disrespect him that way because he has done so much for me. so i would say that chastity is a bigger challenge when you're dating, but when you're married, the stakes are much higher.
