Smoking is not hard to quit. I've done it a thousand times.

All this talk about smoke, I think I'll go have a nice bowl of Dunhill Nightcap.
You just admitted that it's hard to quit smoking. If you've done it thousands of times then you obviously can't quit now can you?

You have yet to give any reasons why to smoke?

But then again, it is you're lives and opinions so I will respect them but I would love to know what it is that just makes you so sure that smoking is such a great thing.

And personally even if I enjoyed smoking, I still couldn't in good conscience give my hard earned money to the tobacco industry because we all know just how wonderful those people are......

Yes, everyone dies. But somethings can cause your life to end sooner.

It's fine to smoke but I agree with shelly freak
I would never date a smoker. Zach my bf used to smoke. He quit a few weeks before we started dating. He hasn't smoked since. And I am glad. Why? because he will live that little bit longer.

I really care about phatb. I want him to live longer.

Cigarettes are drugs. Legal yes, for those over 18, but shouldn't be: they are addictive, harmful to yourself and those around you, expensive, disgusting. I think in some cases, it can become an obstacle on the path to heaven. Jesus would not approve.

My grandparents are chain smokers, and I hate it. I love them dearly but I can't stand to be around them because of their smoking habits. The smell is just disgusting, their skin and voices will never be the same, and they always seem distracted and jittery when they go an hour without a cigarette. The doctors said if they don't both quit my grandma will not live long.

Please, don't start smoking! If you already smoke: quit. It will be hard, a great sacrafice to offer God! But if anyone just has to have tabacco, smoke a pipe. The effect is not as bad on your body and (so they say) you don't get addicted like you do to cigarettes.

Oh, and by the way; kudos to my brother-in-law, who hasn't smoked a day since his first son was born, almost two months ago!

I have to say one of the saddest things is to see a man who seems so strong until pulls out a cig just becuase he can't survive without it.

I smoke a pipe, hookah, and the occasional cigar. All these forms are quite cheap, much more healthy, and enjoyable. The best thing about these forms is that it's near impossible to do it compulsively. (Exception: my grandfather inhaled really cheap cigars for fifty years, and I was there to watch him take the last breath it allowed him). Nicotene helps me focus when studying, and is very relaxing. Consequentially, I've been firing up the hookah like mad the past week, having gone through nearly a pound of shisha and three rolls of coals. I changed the water today and the color made my roomie nauseaus. But, I've been super productive (except for my return here). Tomorrow, I'll go back to one bowl a day or less. I never smoke during Lent, so any habit that sets in gets reset every year.

Coffee contains at least 11 carcinogens, the remaining 1,200 chemicals haven't been tested. I've had a pound of espresso-roasted Arabica this past week.

Why would you want to do something that you can become so addicted to, that is so bad for you're health. What is so good about it?

I agree shelly, I have to admit when I see people pull out a cigarette my opinion of them lowers because they are so weak to give in to smoking.

Isn't anything that you do willinginly that is bad for you're health a sin in a way?

I have no expectation to live long, regardless of tobacco. What I smoke entails little or no tar, so that throws out most of the real harm.

:rolling:

It was a joke for pete's sake. The truth of the matter is that every time I've had a reason to quit (usually when I was involved in sports) I have had no problem quiting. I have never had the slightest withdraw symptom.

I don't have to defend it. It's legal in both civil and moral law. I enjoy it and I will continue to do it until I have the notion to stop.

Are you consistent? Do you do the same for every major corporation? Fast food? Soft Drinks? If not, then quit whining.
