i really don't understand it  :sadder:

why does my mom love going out and drinking so much.  this afternoon she went out to lunch with her boss for their Christmas lunch.  i got home from work just before 6 and she wasn't back yet, so my dad and i went out to dinner.  when we came back she was laying in her recliner....i was guessing she was tired, giving her the benefit of the doubt.....something i shouldn't have done.....just before coming to the computer i stopped to use the downstairs bathroom....well....she definately drank too much because she was definately vomiting (i won't go any further).....but i had to clean some of it up....grrrrr......i don't get it, i just don't get it....she wasn't like this most of my life....mid life crisis or something, i guess....PLEASE pray for her  :sadder:
Please read my post above. I tried to be as clear as possible as to at least a reason why your mother drinks. I see it every day, and I think I have a pretty good understanding of the mindset of the alcoholic. Once you understand their mindset, you can begin to help.

Peace,

Tim

When I go to parties, I'll have a drink or two, but NEVER get drunk or even tipsy. I think its sooooo stupid how people think getting drunk is cool-especially people that do it weekend after weekend. What a waste...

Andrea, it is vital to ALWAYS give her the benefit of a doubt. It says in scripture that we should not judge. We're not God and couldn't possibly know what's truly on your mothers heart. Don't underestimate the power of prayer. It seems like you are taking this as a burden upon your own shoulders to fix...don't do that. Lay the entire ordeal at the foot of the Cross and let Christ take over. No matter how botched and messy the situation gets, it's never more than Christ can bear.
Praying for you,
Aaron
