IcePrincessKRS Posted December 29, 2004 Posted December 29, 2004 Congrats on your little ones! How exciting. We have a little girl, almost 17 months old named Adrienne Anna (Anna is my mother's name) and are expecting baby #2 (just one, though!) and if she's a girl we'll name her Genevieve Dymphna. (If a boy Alexander Damien.) The following are some of my favorite girl names, although my reasons for liking them are not necessarily specifically tied to saints. .Anika, Antonia, Avril, Bianca, Cecilia, Zoe, Chloe, Vivian Keiko (my friend's name and her mom's name, her mom is Japanese), Una, Sofia, Elizaveta or Elspeth/Elsbeth, Francesca, Helen (my grandma's name), Isabel, Lorelei, Margaret (I'd call her Meg), Mena, Sally (my aunt who passed away when I was little, but I can't use it for a first name and I can only use it after my younger sister does, Aunt Sally was her Godmother and she already put first dibs on the name), Portia (for a middle name... can you tell I like the Shakespearian sounding names?), Philomena, Olivia.
theculturewarrior Posted December 29, 2004 Posted December 29, 2004 I want to name my sons after the apostles. My firstborn will Simon Peter.

HavilyRose Posted December 30, 2004 Author Posted December 30, 2004 NO "H's"!!! AHH!! I can't take any more "H's"! haha, I don't think I would name all my kids starting with the same letter. Try having 17 kids running around the house all starting with an "H". It was crazy. Still is crazy, and forever will be crazy. I am Greek-German and my husband is Irish. We have an Irish last name. I really like: Clare and Francisca but I really like the name Grace and Olivia and Sophia, too. Hmm...maybe I need to convince the twins to divide again and create another! Triplets! Now there's fun! (my brothers are triplets). Well, I can always keep names in storage, I'm sure there'll be more. We are hoping for 16... I really like Benedict and Scholastica for a boy and girl. Hey-maybe the ultrasounds are wrong?!?! Haha..I don't think so. My poor husband, the only boy with 4 girls... Thanks for the suggestions. I wrote them all down and have been thinking about them... Peace and Blessings~ Havilynne
IcePrincessKRS Posted December 30, 2004 Posted December 30, 2004 I can only imagine what your house was like growing up---and people think that my parents' family 12 is large. My mom liked a variety of names, though, so we're not too confusing. lol And triplets! Twins are double the blessing, triplets are triple the blessing! (I have 6 year old identical twin brothers.)

[/quote] Haha IcePrincessKrs, 12 is still large! But you know, I wouldn't trade any of my siblings. I love them all, and I am so glad I grew up in a big family. I was never bored!!! I have identical twin sisters too. Triplets and Twins in one family! I don't think I have ever talked to anyone that has grown up in a big family and regretted it. There is just something about a lot of kids, and always a lot of kids and never a dull moment. I can't wait until we are all grown up and to see how many grandkids there'll be! haha! My parents liked ethnic names and names that stood out. So we all have "H's" and pretty strange names. I mean, who names their daughter "Havilynne"? Are your twin brothers the youngest? They must be adorable! I can't wait to have my own twins! I can't wait to have my own big family!!! I think it is funny when I tell people that there are 17 kids in my family, and they automatically say "oh, you're Catholic aren't you?". Like Catholics are the only ones allowed to have a lot of kids. Okay-time to go read Anna (my daughter a story!) Peace and Blessings~ Havilynne
IcePrincessKRS Posted January 8, 2005 Posted January 8, 2005 Whoops... I totally missed this thread after I posted last. My twin brothers are the second and third to youngest. The youngest (Angelica) is almost 2 years old (only about 8 months older than my Adrienne!). I can't wait for family gatherings with lots of grandkids, either (so far, including my bun in the oven, my parents have 4 grandkids). I've already got a good taste of what it will be like from my husbands family--he is #7 of 11 and only the three youngest (still teenagers) are unmarried. There's... oh sheesh.... probably about 19 or 20 grandkids now (I'm too lazy to take the actual tally... I'm tired today lol). Its great, Adrienne absolutely LOVES playing with her cousins, family gatherings here (I'm actually AT my in-laws home right now lol) are just awesome, always loads of fun.
raptor13 Posted January 8, 2005 Posted January 8, 2005 Francis Xavier..... or maybe how about Karol Wojtyla (is that how you even spell it??)

journeyman Posted January 9, 2005 Posted January 9, 2005 (edited) Congratulations! You might try variants of some of the names, which may help the rhythm: Mary, Maria, Marie I also like Adele, although it has fallen from favor Colleen and Christine Edited January 9, 2005 by journeyman
