Alleluia

Hello pholks!

It was my understanding that Alleluia, and Hallelujia mean two different things, and aren't translations at all...

Doesn't Alleluia mean "He is Risen"? That's what I was told anyway....

I know Halleluja is Hebrew and it means Praise the Lord. A friend of mine taught me another word too:

SHABACH-U-YA! (shout of praise to U Yahweh). Haha, I like that one!!

Shabachuya!!!

LOL I LOVE YOUR SIGNATURE!!

About the halleluia thing vs. alleluia, the word is even sometimes spelled with a j instead of an i and when you see it with a j, it has an h at the end, as in allelujah or hallelujah. In our parish, some of the music has hallelujah, andalso at the parish that I used to attend.
