I don't mean that to be rude, but  Europe has been becomeing more and more effete for 50 years or more.  Texas still hasn't.
Ever been to Glasgow, Belfast or Newcastle? You forget that the "effete" people that you met are not really the type to take up arms and defend a nation. There was a great newspaper article about football hooligans and people's reaction to them which in essence said: "they are the very same people who stormed the beaches at Normandy and Anzio and who defeated the French at Agincourt".

Most of Europe still mocks Britain and our lack of style.

About 10 years ago here in Houston scotish man was shot while repeatedly beating on a mans back door, and then running away and hiding, he did this several times and wouldn't identify himself, Scotland Freaked out we had protest and crying mothers plastered all over the nightlly news. The guy was no billed meaning he wasn't charged with anything and heis gun was returned to him thats just what hapens when you pull that kind of carp here. I remember thinking " these are the people who fought with sword and cudgle agianst musket and cannon in 1745; what happened". Compared to Texas Scotland is effete, but I'll give you this compared to Britian and Ireland the rest of Western Europe is full of sissy's.

For the record, Britain doesn't count. I don't really consider them to be a part of the socialist morass that is modern day western europe. I'm especially disappointed with Germany - that country has been castrated. What used to be such a glorious nation of warmongers has become nothing but a pale shadow of its former self. I mean, when they ally themselves with France, and go socialist, you know something is desperately wrong.

Well I suppose that was just an unarmed idiot rather than a trained soldier but I see your point. Something to bear in mind is that during the Persian Gulf War the first British brigade in the region was paired with the US Marines and were planning to work as one force. They were re-deployed when we added more forces and the Marines were pretty disappoined they had to move (as it turns out US marines and Brit Army forces at the time had alternating weaknesses).

Son, I believe in God and His Son, Jesus Christ. And because I do I can say this. Private Santiago is dead, and that is a tragedy. But he died because he had no code, he died because he had no honour, and God was watching.

people who just don't understand the Texan.

Look into the percentage of the entire US forces in both world wars that came from Texas. Heck look for the percent they are now, anyone the US caqn take Texas can take.

Q the Ninja

I would put money on Texas vs. the US.

We have so much spirit, and maybe 1/3 of the military. :P

Indeed. Texas would defeat all of western europe quite handily. There's just a certain spirit about Texas. Besides, if attacked, Texas would have a reserve of millions of professional soldiers. It is common knowledge that every Texan owns at least one assault rifle and trains with it religiously.
