i've only played on one seagull, and frankly, it was just the same as Taks i've played. not sure cost difference, but i'd put them in the same class as far as sound goes, for sure. the main problem i've found with Taks (and heck, even with Taylors) is that you have to def put down a lot more money to get something that sounds good. to get a good sounding Tak, you're prob looking at $800+. for a Taylor prob more like $1000+. some companies (like Martin) the sound is still pretty darn good even with a $500 guitar. so, the long and short of it is, look at seagulls, and if you can get the same sound for less, DO IT!!!

i havent played many guitars in my day but this seagull sounds great. My only thing is that the strings are set pretty high off the fingerboard but i got that shaved down so its better now.

im starting to want to give up!! this sounds really stupid but i cant get my strumming patterns down. being a music student for as long as i have been i didnt think i would have this many problems trying to do it. i can only focus on strumming while im doing it because if i try to change chords or even worse - sing - i just get all messed up. i can barely strum consistently when im not doing anything else.
