marielapin
Congrats, Jake! Don't worry about babyproofing right now, wait till the little one is five or six months old. Concentrate on getting your house ready and getting all the baby stuff. I found a lot of good, cheap things at garage sales, but you just have to do a little research to make sure there aren't any safety updates, etc. I would also take all your free time to start reading some good childbirth and parenting books, I would recommend Popcak's "Parenting with Grace, Catholic Parent's Guide to Raising almost Perfect Kids" very highly. It is written by orthodox catholics and promotes parenting and discipline that is in line with catholic theology. They also draw very heavily from writing from John Paul II. I can also recommend other books if you are interested. I am so happy for you two! I am also glad that Erica is doing well. I really enjoyed my pregnancy too, and it was a very joyful time for the both of us.

But always remember, babies don't come with instruction manuals, and they are tough little critters. Perfect for new parents.
Jake Huether
Please pray for us. Erika is now 6 months along... and our Ob/Gyn (a pro-life Catholic) just told us she's retiring. She recommended us to a new one, but we called just to make sure she was pro-life... and she's not. So now we're stranded at 6 months. We need a pro-life Ob/Gyn. We're going to talk to our Doctor, who's a pro-life Catholic, and hopefully she can recommend us someone good. If not, she said before that she used to deliver babies, etc. So maybe she'll just be everything for us. That would be pretty cool. It's all in God's hands, and Father knows best. But please keep us in prayer. Other than that... Erika's doing great! She's a little low in glucos (we need to eat healthy snacks in-between meals), and she's also a tad enimic (sp?) - need to take iron pills now. But Genesis is doin great, growing and moving and all that good stuff. Take care, and have a great weekend! Thanks Pham.

IcePrincessKRS
We'll be praying! I'm not sure if you have a birth center and midwives nearby, but that is always another option (thats the route we went--their job is just delivering babies they CANNOT perform abortions so you always have that guranteed, I didn't like the idea of homebirth, though so we opted for a birth center instead of the hospital). I hope you guys find a doctor that you're really happy with and that is pro-life! It can be SOOOO hard!
