im not 100% about this but...
if one is born into a non-catholic faith then they are not heretics they are just schismatic?

or is that wrong?
Sooo...since I was born into a Lutheran family and have been raised in a Lutheran church and all.... what does that make me?? :(

Oh, and about going to the baptism and whatnot, I definitely say no. I know that some Lutheran churches sadly do not have closed communion and will let just anyone up there (terrible...) but as a WELS Lutheran (basically the most traditional) we do closed communion for members only, so I fully appreciate that. Just my thoughts on the subject... God bless.

its just that some Lutherans look at me as a ungoldly Mary worshiping Catholic, especially members of my own family.

heretic is a term that can not be avoided. It must be used. It is a bitter term and many (including myself) would like to aviod it. But it can not be avodied because it is the Truth. It is a strong word. But it most be used to convey a strong idea.

I'm glad to hear this, but I doubted that you were a protestant hater or anything. And yes, I can definitely sympathize...I hear anti-Catholic remarks at church and from my own family too, and it really gets to me. But I do my best to correct what they are saying. I think my family is starting to wonder about me actually... but anyways, I'm sorry that people have to be so ignorant and rude... We just have to work to change it. God bless.

It's hard having family w/ different faiths. I can sympathize. I have non- Catholic family members who go to a non-denom church, and I sometimes hears some "interesting" <_< things. I was invited to a women's retreat from their church. It's my birthday weekend and if I didn't want to be alone, I had to go w/ my sister, cousins, and aunts , and some friends. My aunt also invited my mom. It's at a large convention center, so noone except my family will notice if I don't join in some of the activities or glare at any speaker's comments.-- for ex. if they have communion, which they did when I went 2 yrs. ago, I won't participate obviously.
I'll pray for you and your family :) Pray for my family and I, that I make it through this weekend, and maybe even am able to speak up, and speak up well, if my cousins or friends raise any questions.

You will be in my prayers also! Even though this retreat might be a little awkward and odd in many ways, what a great opportunity to witness to others! God bless you and your family, especially this weekend! ^_^
