Isn't Star Wars some form of witchcraft?
Catechism of the Catholic Church: Divination and magic

2115
God can reveal the future to his prophets or to other saints. Still, a sound Christian attitude consists in putting oneself confidently into the hands of Providence for whatever concerns the future, and giving up all unhealthy curiosity about it. Improvidence, however, can constitute a lack of responsibility.

2116
All forms of divination are to be rejected: recourse to Satan or demons, conjuring up the dead or other practices falsely supposed to "unveil" the future.48 Consulting horoscopes, astrology, palm reading, interpretation of omens and lots, the phenomena of clairvoyance, and recourse to mediums all conceal a desire for power over time, history, and, in the last analysis, other human beings, as well as a wish to conciliate hidden powers. They contradict the honor, respect, and loving fear that we owe to God alone.

2117
All practices of magic or sorcery, by which one attempts to tame occult powers, so as to place them at one's service and have a supernatural power over others—even if this were for the sake of restoring their health—are gravely contrary to the virtue of religion. These practices are even more to be condemned when accompanied by the intention of harming someone, or when they have recourse to the intervention of demons. Wearing charms is also reprehensible. Spiritism often implies divination or magical practices; the Church for her part warns the faithful against it. Recourse to so-called traditional cures does not justify either the invocation of evil powers or the exploitation of another's credulity.
Is it righteous to turn to Star Wars for entertainment? Should Catholics be supporting this twist of witchcraft presented in Star Wars?
That noo was actually pretty moving for me ,as for many of the fans on star wars .com ,it made it all the more deeper and you felt for vader on how he was duped by Palps.

Thats because the people on starwars.com are going to love the movie and hate its detractors no matter had bad it is :rolling:

Ya ,because we actually appreciate the movie for the part it plays in the whole trilogy ,its because we actually understand what all the stuff in the background is and much of the EU things ,not to mention the storyline .

Others dont like it because unlike us ,they dont take the movie for what it is, a crucial piece in the dream of George Lucas ..STAR WARS.

oh my gosh the thrid movie was awful the acting was retarded the only one who did good acting was Ewan Mcgregor(sp?). I have never fallen asleep in a movie theater before i font thihnk. but this movie was so bad it put me to sleep

Thats a very dumb reason not to like it ,as I said ,only true Star Wars fans really can see how great this movie is ,two scenes dont make a movie bad ,WOW TWO SCENES !!! How could you fall asleep ,its action packed and ties in greatly with the other movies, if you really undrstood what Star Wars was all about ,youd enjoy it .

The new film does have alittle bit of cheesy acting, but its not as bad as the previous two films, Episode II in particular.

In humble my opinion, adside from the acting & the film being rushed, this was almost a perfect film. I give it a 9.5 out of 10 on my personal scale. and on normal scales I give it a 4.5 out of 5.

Oh and "Darth Vader's NOOOO" at the end of the flick, its not as bad as the entergizer bunny commerical back in the 90s. now that was bad. if any of you remember it.

The Darth Vader "NOOOO" Line is so much better than that Entergizer Bunny Commerical One. which was flat out cheesy. The "Nooo" by Darth Vader was golden.

Lucas is a excellent writer, especially with his old work, hes just not a good writter of romance, of course ya can't blame him, because 90% of the time romance is cheesy. Its really, hard to say something that sounds cheesy and not make it cheesy.

Hollywood fails to understand that most teenage/young-adult romances are not very poetic in nature, it resembles more of real-life than movie fantasy.

But I think it could've been done better in Episode 2. Overall, the film is AWESOME!!!!

All the prequels are awesome ,how can anyone think they arent ,they all set the stage for the OT ,screw the bad acting ,whoever goes and sees Star Wars for the acting needs to get out more . One or two scenes ,whoopdy doo !! psh !! <_< Go and see it for the story and the visuals ,not the acting ,other than a few scenes clonees and revenge both were great .

Now I can understand why people bad mouth the Prequals for its Acting, but how can one say the Acting was poor in the Classic Trilogy? that would be insane.

Classic Trilogy came up with some of the most rememberable lines in Movie History.

"May the Force Be With You."
"I Love You..." - Leia "I Know." -Han Solo
"NO, I am Your Father." - Darth Vader

As you can see the most popluar line solgan is "May the Force Be With You."

With how they said that in the Classics it was perfect, still is.

I got tired of Anakin's constant frown. I know he is in distress turning to the dark side but quit the furrowed brow thing, ok?

Also, David Prowse was a bodybuilder who was in the Vader costume for Episode IV-VI. As a kid seeing those movies in the theater, Vader looked huge and menacing. When Haden Christiansen is in the suit for Episode III, he looks small. When he stands next to the Emporer in the end, it looks like the Emporer could take him out. Maybe Vader hit the gym between III and IV. Imagine going to the gym and having Vader ask you to spot him as he maxes out on the bench press. Or maybe even seeing him on the stairmaster and the sound of his breathing going really fast......but I digress.

I hated the "NOOOOO!". I think and "AAAHHHHHHH!" would have been better but that's just me.

I do think, however, that Episode III was the best one.

The Noo expressed Vaders feelings ,all of his emotions came out in that no ,it was the epitome of his feelings for Padme ,how much he loved her and would do anything to keep her . How did Anakin look small,he was the same size because they used stilts in the suit to make him taller than he really is.

Posted (edited)

It seemed his arms were small. The suit just looked kind of baggy.

I know I'm splitting hairs here, but the way he moved looked wrong to me. When he steps off the "assembly rack" and stumbles, the first thing that came to mind was that Vader moves like Frankenstein.

I've got a weak argument here but I was dissapointed.

Well that was the first time he walked with Prosthetic legs in his life ,so it would be kind of hard going from natural to fake limbs right away.
