Guess what: polygamy is sloser than you think!

I guess Canada can hope for the silver medal in this competition 'cause the gold medal for polygamy is officially going to the Netherlands.  Gotta love the moron's Olympics!

For some reason, I just want to fall asleep and wake up in a hundred years.

Proof that once you allow for civil unions, anything goes. Next thing you'll see is a man and his horse or dog. It'll only be a matter of time. :ohno: If there's one thing that gives me hope, its the sacredness of the sacrament of Matrimony. This kind of stuff won't be happening in a Catholic church.
In my view, the ACLU is something I both love and hate.  Most of the people and groups they defend I personally don't agree with, but at the same time, they allow people to speak their minds.  They defended the KKK's right to have a peaceful march in Chicago a while back and while I don't support (aka hate) the KKK, they exist and if they are going to be peaceful about the march then they should be allowed to march.

The ACLU is pretty much necessary to keep this country functioning as a diverse, multicultural place, because otherwise we'd probably jail anyone whose ideas we don't like.  While we don't like their ideas we have to respect the fact that they don't like ours and that we both have to be able to speak our minds.  If they didn't exist then the majority would completely shutdown any minority and everyone's freedoms would be at risk.

So I both love and hate them, at the same time, because I have to.

This is all complete hogwash. I completely despise the ACLU. If they were to suddenly disband, no harm would be done at all to this country, and I would rejoice.
They are a militantly radical-secularist anti-Christian organization. They do not "allow people to speak their minds" when it comes to Christians. They threaten lawsuits whenever anybody makes any kind of Christian witness in public - how's that for "free speech"?

Maybe I could "respect the fact that they don't like our ideas," except for the fact that they are a legal organization which actually affects legal rulings that affect us all.

"Keeping this country functioning as a diverse, multicultural place" is not the purpose of law or of government. This is PC nonsense worthy of Orwell's 1984.

The ACLU is an evil, politically-motivated organization which defends godlessness, atheism, and obscenity, but takes away liberties for Christians.

the ACLU (asociation of crazy lunatics united) will defend anything- ehh its a man's right to rape a girl or a girl's right to be a prostitute or a person's right to kill- wouldnt be surprised if they took up cases like that but when real civil liberties are at stake like being allowed to freely practice religion- they are no where to be seen

I dispise the ACLU as well.

Curtins, you have it right almost..the ACLU did defend those disgusting NAMBLA people (National {something} Man Boy {something}{something})

If we can just have Roberts get strong enough and brave enough to stand up and get another person in there like him..things like this will fail.

but the reason this country is going down hill is because there has been no one brave enough to step up to the plate and speak their mind. They always think 'political' instead of 'moral'.

Both Parties are failing us as a country, there is no clear cut leader in either of them. The courts are the ones making the laws instead of the government.

I dont know who to vote for in 2008..a President or a judge.

I'm up for that!
But let's not give up on America yet. The only way things are going to get better is if we try to make them better.

I don't know what your stance is because you contradicted yourself when you said you don't support them, but you defend what they do. What you are basically saying is that you are okay with the KKK holding peaceful protests. That goes against everything this country stands for. Did you know that the KKK is not just a radical activist group who are strongly African Americans, but they originally started out against pretty much anybody that wasn't like them. Being a white Anglo-Saxon group, to the KKK, Catholics were on the top of there list as were Jews and Muslims. This is not right. Why would you be okay with someone protesting (even peacefully) against basically the majority of the world.

You can make your own decisions, but it is really odd that you don't think what they are doing is right but you condone that type of behavior. I would urge you to look into what they (the ACLU) do and decide which is better...A life based on morals and truth which is much of what Christianity as a whole is; or an organization that states that all people have the right to do as they please even at the expense of true moral values.

Above all, God should come first. He alone gives us free will, and He is our final judgement. The ACLU really has not benefitted people because they are being led further from the truth. Don't we want to draw closer to God rather than further from Him? Prayers for the ACLU.

I'm sorry if this sounded angry, but I have a strong passion for morals and ethics. I enjoy studying about these things and when something comes up that challenges moral or ethical issues, I really can't help but adding my two sense in.

Polyamory has been common in the science fiction fandom community for decades.

Polyamory is where you, with your spouse's consent, have sexual relationships with other people. There is a busy usenet newsgroup devoted to the lifestyle.

But they are all atheists, so it makes sense in their world view. :ohno:

If I'm correct, beastily is legal in Oregon, but it has restrictions.
