homeschoolmom Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 Traveling. I love to travel. I want to take my kids somewhere fun. I especially like big cities.
jasJis Posted July 7, 2005 Posted July 7, 2005 Attended and/or served at Mass in the woods at night, by a river, in a carnival tent after midnight, in a church with no walls, in St. Paul's Cathedral in England (Anglican), in small churches in small towns I was passing through, in a number of cathedrals/bascilicas, and in a couple of homes. And spent an night in a 'haunted' castle in Scotland. Stood on the top of the 400' tower of the Sky Way bridge in Tampa. Worked in a power plant and an orange juice factory. Been on TV more than once. Gone para-sailing, mountain hiking, white water rafting, jet skied, water skied, snowmobiled, river tubing, gone through an entire skateboard park while doing a hand stand on my board, and been in more than 20 auto accidents. Have had a gun pointed at me in anger/fear more than once. Never been arrested, but have been in a number of prisons. And been in love a few times, had broken hearts, been loved by others, got married, fathered children, and watched them be born. Saved a life more than once. Watched people get sown up, run over, burned, thrown from a car, and talked to people when they knew they were going to die. It's been a boring life. And I gotta pick one?
Technicoid Posted July 7, 2005 Posted July 7, 2005 Hmmmm. Well, I don't go in for extreme sports, so maybe this will only put a few people to sleep. - At age 7 or so, crucified myself (play acting) on my grandma's front lawn. - Toured Pacific NW with nightclub rock band. - Opened up for Foghat (old band, never mind). - Sang a Brűckner Mass in Ely Cathedral with three other choirs and a small orchestra. - Attended 6 SKA special trainings. (Makes mortification much less daunting.) - Came back to the faith after being an agnostic for 20 years. (May not sound like much, but believe me, it was miraculous.)

homeschoolmom Posted July 7, 2005 Posted July 7, 2005 When my husband and I were in Rome, we watched Teletubbies at 6 am... "Ciao-ciao Tinky Winky" "Ciao-ciao La La" "Ciao-ciao Dipsy" "Ciao-Ciao Po" very weird...
Colleen Posted July 7, 2005 Posted July 7, 2005 When I was fifteen years old, I was in Rome for World Youth Day. On the opening day my friend and some other girls in our group snuck into where the Italians were meeting with the Holy Father (John Paul II). Despite not having the correct passes (they had to be blue) and not looking Italian (I have red hair), and not speaking Italian, we managed to get in anyway. We waited for three hours in about 100-degree heat ('twas the middle of August when everyone in Rome leaves because it's too hot). Then the Pope drove by in his popemobile and I climbed on my friend's shoulders and took pictures. We were maybe ten feet away.
Technicoid Posted July 7, 2005 Posted July 7, 2005
You opened for Foghat !!!!!!!
Well, it as on one of the reunion tours, where they play large but seedy nightclubs and get local acts to warm up. It was fun, but not particularly high profile. However, since I had cut my teeth on Foghat, it was pretty cool.
iggy Posted July 7, 2005 Posted July 7, 2005 Umm, well. I have almost drowned 3 times. I have been stuck in a cave, and had to be rescued by the adults. I have toured in Germany, Italy and Paris, France with a chorus of 40 someodd girls. I have rappelled off of a 100 foot cliff. I have slept in a tent on a cot and woke up with a dirt ring around where my head was. I have hiked 15 miles up a mountian... most of it on a badly hurt ankle. I have been to Adoration. I learned how to pray the Rosary. I made friends with people who want to get to Heaven.
jmjtina Posted July 7, 2005 Posted July 7, 2005 pretended I was 3 feet tall in the colored balls at Peter Pipers when they started getting on my friends because they stood up and gave themselves away. and I almost drowned in swim class. Our teacher left us for one day and the cute life guard saved my life. NEVER again will I pass 4.5 feet. NEVER.
ardillacid Posted July 7, 2005 Posted July 7, 2005 My friends and i make hand shadows on the movie theater screens
