As you may remember, I believe it was in March, that the terrorists actually named the Vatican among possible targets for terror attacks. I heard on a news report today, that on the website that was claiming responsibility for the London attacks, they named the Dutch and Italy as places for possible attack because of their support for the war, and Egypt for supporting Christians. Now I know Italy and the Vatican are not the same country.. but considering where it is, it would be quite an easy target considering it is the headquarters for Christianity, and in Italy in the middle of Rome

I dont know, just my worries. Prayers for London and for Papa.

I hope nothing happens at World Youth Day. Think about it. There'll be thousands of young infidels to kill...

Come on, people. Stop it. Did Jesus not ask how worrying can add to anyone's lifespan?

We should be praying for the Holy Father and the Church at all times, no matter what, in war and peace, and leave the rest to God. God protected our John Paul, would he do no less for Papa B?

There is a just place for worry. It is an important human emotion.

A mother whose child doesn't come home one night would be justly worried.

But Christian worry is always borne by faith and hope.

Yes, but a just time to worry is not the same as counterproductive alarmism.

Yeah, I agree. God's will will be done. Just place your worries at the feet of Jesus and pray for our Holy Father. With Christ we are stronger than any act of terrorism!

Amen, if they attack then it is God's Will.

Be Not Afraid!

Of course we shouldn't worry about what might happen, but we should be praying for the protection of the Holy Father, so that he is able to fulfill his mission as visible head of the Church.

For the funeral there were 8 million people in Roma and no problems. :)

Heaven forbid anything happen on WYD... For this I shall beg to the Lord...

JPII be there for our new Pontiff.

May Mary Mother of God protect Benedict XVI as she protected JP the Great.

I must confess, I seldom pray. Or should I say, I do not pray as much as I should. But the vision of a terrorsit attack on WYD! The horror of this image simply leaves me speechless.

I will continue to pray both for London and for our Church. And may John Paul II watch over and intercede for the Youth and pope in Cologne, too!

There's a story about Cardinal Woijtyla. He was about to celebrate the inaugural Mass at a Cathedral that he had to build, despite the communists. Anyhoo, one of his advisors was afraid that the rumors that the Cardinal would be assasinated by the communists were true. He expressed his fears to the Cardinal, to which the Cardinal replied, "Fear only rain."
