LOL... didn't I start a thread like this one? I screwed it up though.... I'm such a rookie bottom feeder...

ok, here is my last post of the day.... until the weekend...

My favorite verse:

Les beatitudes (in englsih... not certain)

Honorable mentinos:

"Who are you to seek amongst the dead He who is amongst the living."

and about 50 others... that one is just my second pick....

beautiful is the word of God.... beautiful indeed.

yep :D

my fav is 1 Corinthians 13:13 ~ Of these, faith, hope, and love remain, but the greatest of these is love

and another one is 1 Corinthians 13:6 ~ it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth

I have so many... But I've been very fond of Luke 25.35 lately

And they went to tell the others what had happened on the road, and how they had come to know Him in the breaking of the bread.
Truly, truly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.

For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself,

and has given him authority to execute judgment, because he is the Son of man.

Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice

and come forth, those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of judgment.

--John 5:25-29
I always laugh when I read the passage where Jesus says "Go tell that fox...". I can just picture him calling Herod a "fox".

2 Cor 10:3-5

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty to God, unto the pulling down of fortifications, destroying counsels, And every height that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God: and bringing into captivity every understanding unto the obedience of Christ.

Who can detect heeless failings?
Clense me from my unknown faults,
And from willfull sins keep your servant,
That I may be blameless, innocent of grave sin.
Let the words of my mouth meet with your favor;
Keep the thoughts of my heart always before you,
Oh Lord, my Rock and my Reedeemer.

From Psalm 19. :) I was sitting on a dock by a pond early one morning, reading the Bible, and I stumbled upon that Psalm. It spoke to me so strongly, and ever since then that passage has been my favorite.

Well, there's the one in my Sig. Another favorite of mine has been 1 Peter 3:13-17:

13
Now who is going to harm you if you are enthusiastic for what is good?
14
But even if you should suffer because of righteousness, blessed are you. Do not be afraid or terrified with fear of them,
15
but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts. Always be ready to give an explanation to anyone who asks you for a reason for your hope,
16
but do it with gentleness and reverence, keeping your conscience clear, so that, when you are maligned, those who defame your good conduct in Christ may themselves be put to shame.
17
For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that be the will of God, than for doing evil.

"And rising up, he came to his father. And when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him and was moved with compassion and running to him fell upon his neck and kissed him."

The ones on my mind lately are:

Sirach 7:36 "In whatever you do, remember your last days, and you will never sin"

Sirach 15:11 "Say not: 'It was God's doing that I fell away'; for what He hates He does not do" (and the following verses through the end of chapter 15)

Hebrews 11:13-16 "All of these died in faith. They did not obtain what had been promised but saw and saluted it from afar. By acknowledging themselves to be strangers and foreigners on the earth, they showed that they were seeking a homeland. If they had been thinking back to the place from which they had come, they would have had the opportunity of returning there. But they were searching for a better, a heavenly home. Wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them".

Here are a couple of my favorites:

"And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth; we have beheld His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father." [John 1:14]

"His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us to His own glory and excellence, by which He has granted to us His precious and very great promises, that through these you may escape from the corruption that is in the world because of passion, and become partakers of the divine nature." [2 Peter 1:3-4]

A few that have struck me recently:

"Therefore I tell you, all that you ask for in prayer, believe that you receive it and it shall be yours.
~ Mark 11:24

"May it be done to me according to your word."
~Luke 1:38

"The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest."
~Matthew 9:37-38

"God created man in his image;
in the divine image he created him;
male and female he created them.
God blessed them, saying to them, 'Be fertile and multiply; fill the earth and subdue."
~Genesis1:27-28

And my all time favorite:

A faithful friend is a sturdy shelter; he who finds one finds a treasure. A faithful friend is beyond price, no sum can balance his worth. A faithful friend is a life-saving remedy, such as he who fears God finds; For he who fears God behaves accordingly, and his friend will be like himself.
~ Sirach 6:14-17

I really like that one! It reminds me of the Angelus. And it is beautiful in it's own right as well. :)
