phatcatholic Posted July 18, 2005 Share Posted July 18, 2005 look at it this way: a protestant's faith compels him towards a specific action (the saying of the sinner's prayer: "Lord Jesus, I believe that you died for my sins and that you are my personal Lord and Savior") which he believes results in the reception of grace that puts him in right relationship w/ the Lord. the catholic's faith compels him towards a specific action (the reception of the sacraments) which he believes results in the reception of grace that puts him in right relationship w/ the Lord. essentially, there is little difference. when i point this out to protestants, it has occasionally aided our conversations. that is, unless they are just hell-bent on believing that catholics work for their salvation......
