Philippe Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 Good for him! Its nice to see the Cardinals not being afraid to stand up for the Gospel of Truth!
Lounge Daddy Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 oh saweeeeeet i love action in lieu of rhetoric
goldenchild17 Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 That's umm... interesting... or should I say disturbing(the Bishops - not what he did)
Didacus Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 We are living in a time of absolute confusion. Its good to know that the church will remain firm in its truth and be the stone upon which we can cling to weather the storm.
Guest JeffCR07 Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 Bishops who do the right thing make me feel warm and fuzzy inside
Tony Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005
Why are the "ordinations" done in boats?
same reason that some of the old illegal or "pirate" radio stations did.. harder to catch
Noel's angel Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 well, if they are in the sea, they aren't in a diocese so the bishops can't actually do anything since they are outside their juristiction. I think that's why, anyway.
homeschoolmom Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 But don't they see how utterly rediculous that is?
Noel's angel Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 they want to be women 'priests'-it says it all really...
Didacus Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 The reason they are on boats is to prevent any interference from federal authorities including those of the Catholic Church itself. There is absolutely no validity to their ordination. I was actually discussing this with my older sister a few weeks ago, and she started off by saying "Did you know some woman are going to be ordained soon?" i told her "No, some woman are trying to pass themselves off a getting ordained, but will most likely end up being excomunicated." Next time I see her I'll be able to slap a "I told you so." on her... but I won't...*sigh* I always want to, but I never do. I just receive those but never have the heart to actually dish them out.
homeschoolmom Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 Yes, but... It's like saying you want to be a superhero or something... but you hide in a phonebooth so you don't get caught pretending you're a superhero, because you know you aren't one. You aren't even really fooling yourself...
Didacus Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 It should be obvious and next to common sense that positive change cannot be reached through an attack of the church, which is in my view precisely what these woman are doing. Whoever disagrees with the church's teachings should foremost abide with the church's authority and aim to remain in communion with the church, then respectfully work for change from within. Such clandestine actions is hurtful to the church and its faithfuls and I for one would have very little nice things to tell these woman if ever I meet them. (so I probably wouldn't say anything at all)
Aloysius Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 if they were working to change from within they would be working as agents of satan... female priests are an impossibility I would schism over if ever "changed".
