Sirklawd Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005
dude, that was awesome.
thanks, i wish i didnt have to say anything.
Listen, You NEED to be gentle. Seriously. I don't care how bad you feel towards her but remember that God would lead back with kindness. If you haul off on her then it will only strengthen the view that many people have on pro-lifers. Say exactly what l337 mentioned. Point out her uneasiness. I hope that this is not too late. Meg
i was being gentile i even came out and said that my intent wasnt to yell. ...sorry
jmjtina Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 (edited) Sirklawd, I think it was directed at me. It was my rant. Not a direct response to "medicine girl". Yet, if it called for it, I wouldn't sugarcoat it either. My personal response is to pray for her. Edited July 22, 2005 by jmjtina
1337 k4th0l1x0r Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 I thought you were gentle, sirklawd. I think she was directing that comment at other people who might leave comments. The first step with dealing with people who are vehemently pro-choice is to point out any weaknesses they have with dealing with abortion. Think prying open with a screwdriver, not pounding with a hammer. And for the love of all that is good, let's not validate Godwin's law in her blog comments.
Laudate_Dominum Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 Murder isn't a strong enough word. This is ripping a living baby apart piece by piece. It is a horrific, torturing death. If this was happening to cows or pigs people would be throwing a fit. But these are beautiful babies we're talking about.. It is sheer, satanic madness.
reelguy227 Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 That was awesome sirklawd. Good job .You seemed gentle to me.
EcceNovaFacioOmni Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005
Oath of Hippocrates, circa 400 B.C. I swear by Apollo the physician, by Æsculapius, Hygeia, and Panacea, and I take to witness all the gods, all the goddesses, to keep according to my ability and my judgement, the following Oath. "To consider dear to me as my parents him who taught me this art; to live in common with him and if necessary to share my goods with him; to look upon his children as my own brothers, to teach them this art if they so desire without fee or written promise; to impart to my sons and the sons of the master who taught me and the disciples who have enrolled themselves and have agreed to the rules of the profession, but to these alone the precepts and the instruction. I will prescribe regimens for the good of my patients according to my ability and my judgement and never do harm to anyone. To please no one will I prescribe a deadly drug nor give advice which may cause his death. Nor will I give a woman a pessary to procure abortion. But I will preserve the purity of my life and my art. I will not cut for stone, even for patients in whom the disease is manifest; I will leave this operation to be performed by practitioners, specialists in this art. In every house where I come I will enter only for the good of my patients, keeping myself far from all intentional ill-doing and all seduction and especially from the pleasures of love with women or with men, be they free or slaves. All that may come to my knowledge in the exercise of my profession or in daily commerce with men, which ought not to be spread abroad, I will keep secret and will never reveal. If I keep this oath faithfully, may I enjoy my life and practice my art, respected by all men and in all times; but if I swerve from it or violate it, may the reverse be my lot."
reelguy227 Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 I have an idea ,lets all reply to that persons blog .It would be great ,maybe we would change her mind and we could tell her that we are all praying for her ,and not mean . Maybe the impact we will make on her will make her change ? Who else agrees with me ?
1337 k4th0l1x0r Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 Sadly, she's already performed the 'procedures'. http://gdeuce13.blogspot.com/2005/07/its-r...old-cat-is.html Lord have mercy...
reelguy227 Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 Gosh ,how can you be so desensitized do death ,it just creeps me out . Gosh .
1337 k4th0l1x0r Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 I've been reading through her blog and some comments left in other blogs in reply to her blog and find that so many people put the moral detatchment this girl experiences when she performs an abortion on par with the sort of professional detatchment doctors must have when dealing with patients. They're two totally different things. The doctor/patient detatchment is for the good of the patient and the doctor. It allows to doctor to make diagnoses and perform procedures based on the biological aspects of the person, not the personal aspects. Never is it a moral detachment. The doctor will still be conciously doing the procedures fully aware of what she is doing, but doesn't let personal opinion and emotions toward the patient to get in the way. It's a similar detachment to what a piest does when hearing confessions. The priest is still hearing you, but your relationship to the priest is not reflexive in the sacramental rite. The type of detatchment she was experiencing was not professional. It's the same type of detachment one uses when they know they're about to do something wrong but do it anyways. Kinda like if you're about to go into a tirade and seriously tell off a friend. You get out of the moment, let part of your mind do the talking, and later step back in not fully realizing what you've done. The sad part is that once the initial shock is over, this detachment is needed less and less. You hear about serial killers who are shocked themselves about what they are doing at first, but soon become quite mechanical and think nothing of what they're doing.
reelguy227 Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 (edited) So ,are you condoning what she does ,just because she has to do her duty ? Edited July 22, 2005 by reelguy227
1337 k4th0l1x0r Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 Absolutely not. I'm saying that the detatchment she has isn't a professional detatchment like some people (not here) would claim it to be. It's exactly the detatchment people have when their conscience knows they're doing something wrong, even if they don't consciously (i know, two similary words) believe what they're doing is wrong.
Semperviva Posted July 23, 2005 Posted July 23, 2005 how could any woman remain composed after seeing that happen?
Laudate_Dominum Posted July 23, 2005 Posted July 23, 2005 I would die if I had to witness that kind of horror. insane.

I don't know. I mean to think that a person is living within a woman, and to think that someday this could be you, how could anyone feel anything but pain not only for the person that is/was pregnant, but for the baby that is/was inside. God bless- LGLG
