thessalonian Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005
ask her if she realizes she forgot to put enough clothes on today. lol
I have to say I went the route of saying something one time. I said to a young lady who was immodestly dressed "you want men to see you for what is on the inside rather than what is on the outside". In retrospect, reflecting on it, I put myself in great danger and made the temptation worse. I think the phillip neri/monte python method is best. "Run AWAY! RUN AWAY", though it may be a difficult alternative in this case. The prayers are a viable second alternative. Especially in this case I would not recommend a conversation with her. I've sent a few smoke signals up. Blessings
theculturewarrior Posted July 25, 2005 Author Posted July 25, 2005 I asked God to give me the grace to see His daughters as their mothers see them, and to see His mothers as their daughters see them. Until then, it will just be "run away!!!!"
Kaeldra Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 lol that's awesome TCW way to be original in avoiding temptation.

By talking to her you gave her something to think about. Hopefully she will change the way she dresses. My own experience I worked in a convenience store. A young man was standing across from the register looking at some candy, his pants fell down (you know how they wear them) he wasn't wearing any underwear.

daugher-of-Mary Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 oohhhh you could try the Aquinas route and haul out the ol' burning log! In all seriousness, if you can approach a young lady who is immodestly dressed without sinning yourself, do so. You have a way with beautiful words, tcw, and may be able to get her to see that dressing that way isn't going to get her the type of guy she wants. Believe it or not, she may not even be aware how she appears to members of the opposite sex. It may have been the way she was brought up. I've seen little toddlers wearing "teenage" clothing...so wrong.

theculturewarrior Posted July 26, 2005 Author Posted July 26, 2005 There's a modestly dressed woman in the lab right now and she looks beautiful and mysterious.

theculturewarrior Posted July 29, 2005 Author Posted July 29, 2005 Why can't we all just wear birqas?
Christie_M Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 my mom says that she's going to make me wear one....
theculturewarrior Posted July 29, 2005 Author Posted July 29, 2005 Thank your mom for me. She's saving souls one person at a time. :
theculturewarrior Posted July 29, 2005 Author Posted July 29, 2005 I was just kidding. (I think every one should wear a birqa. I would wear one if my mom made me.)
Christie_M Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 why? I want to show my eyes...and fingers, and hands, and face.....that's it. :
