"Blessed are you among women?

I must say this woman sounds sort of unstable.
It is possible that she has some strange heterodox belief that could bring about her stance. For example if she thought that Our Lady was ignorant of her own favour with God and of her sons Divinity she might just be speaking of the subjective experience of a mother.. I dunno.. It seems worse than that though.

What does this woman say to verses such as "blessed are you among women" and "all generations shall call me blessed"?

Just curious.

I suspect she might just be thinking about the subjective joy of a mother (just a guess). In which case if she held that Mary didn't realize God's plan their joy would have been comparable. This viewpoint obviously goes against Scripture and Tradition, but it's the best way I can make sense of her statements without conceding megalomania or some similar pathology.

hehe, u give her too much credit i think. i'm more apt to think that her heart and mind are so resistent to catholic teaching that she would rather make illogical statements than give the necessary assent.

He is quite right. If I say left she will invariably say right. Up down, you get the picture. Truth does not concern her. Being against anything Cathoic does it seems.

I've pretty much figured out she doesn't really read my posts. She just skims them for something she can dig at. She admitted as much. In the long run however the truth about her methods will be plain for those who are open to truth.

She has dug her heals in and won't recant. Noone will come to her defense but they won't deny what she has said either. I probably need to leave it alone now.

I don't see how she couldn't understand that Mary knew. Especially after what Gabriel told her at the Annunciation.

31 Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name him Jesus.

Well we're ignorant Catholics who never read the Bible and only spit back what we have been told. Or so she tells me. It amazes me as well. Pride is the root. Pray for them!

I heard something recently concerning Elizabeth calling Mary "blessed among women."

According to Fr. Mitch Pacwa, in Hebrew (or Aramaic - or w/e it was, lol) there are no superlatives. So Elizabeth could not say "You are the most blessed woman."

Instead of using superlatives, they would say "blessed among" or something to that affect. When Elizabeth says "Blessed are you among women." she is saying "You are the most blessed woman."
