well, i didn't really STOP my schooling. : I'vt been on vacation for a few weeks...

We sort of wind down one subject at a time. Grammar book done in April? Grammar is over for the year. Math book completed in June? Math is done. So, we sort of finish one subject at a time. By mid June, we are on vacation. I like to start early so that we can take "opportunity vacations." If we suddenly get a really nice day in March-- no school today, go out and play. Grandpa and Grandma are coming through town? No school. etc.

Besides, my kids are really excited to start today. My daughter said they are at that point in vacation were you just want school to start again. So...
