At face value it would, but considering hispanics, blacks, American indians, and etc are the minority in the country, I suppose they use the same term instead of saying "hispanics, blacks, american indians, etc make 50.2%".

But 90% of the minorities in TX are hispanic... probably.

I read in a sociology textbook a couple years ago that by 2050 or so, the Latin population will be a national majority.

When I got my first job in an office some months ago, I noticed that nearly everyone was white, except for my supervisor, who was Spanish. What that means, I don't know. It could point to corporate racism, or to an overall lack of education opportunities for social minorities, and hence an inabilitity to get such jobs. When you go to a Burger King around here, the whole staff is Latin. I asked a friend who worked in a restaurant why that is so, and he said that they are often exploited for jobs like that, because they're less likely to complain. It's a vicious cycle.

i dont like that all of the minorities are lumped together. they say "we" need to be brought up to the level of whites. im sorry that does sound a bit racist. everyone is a little bit but GEEZ most of the minorities these days are at the top of our class and doing really well.

Good point. We also need to do a better job helping immigrants with practical concerns (learning how to read, help getting jobs, etc...) A lot of Catholics go to Protestant Churches because they have better services. Sad but true.

i just hope that with change in numbers, maybe we won't be be looked down that much anymore

i'm very dedicated to trying to get as many hispanics to college, especially from my neighborhood, since its so hard and impossible for them with people who think they can't--theres more to life than whataburger--and even their own familes.

anyways, i think it will be a nice surprise when the minorities are the majority

i think catholic answers answered that not too long ago, but i can't remember. im thinking it could have been patrick madrid. and how we need to reach out to all of them, because they are not recognized or have the needs in the towns that they are in. and their so many of them, we can't afford to ignore them. the have a differen culture, language, etc.

we definitely need to crusade with the Virgen de Guadalupe and bring them all home because sadly, your right, their going protestant because thats whos envangelizing them

I don't want to sound racist, but if there was a minority I wanted to become the majority, it would be the hispanics. It's common knowledge that a lot of African Americans unfortunately have a poor mentality, all of them want to be rap stars and sport stars, instead of getting an education and working hard. Even Bill Cosby see this.

At least with the hispanics, they're hard workers and don't have a "whites are against us" attuide. I see more of them in the higher-ups, than the blacks. I just don't want our country to become the slums, that's all.

I read in [i]America[/i] by Jon Stewart that by 2050, the American population will be 230% Hispanic.

the other day I saw a Spanish version of Lets Make a Deal on Univision.. it was quite interesting
