dUSt Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 Hollywood ruined the Dukes of Hazzard. If you are a fan of the TV series, like me, I don't see how you could like this movie. It was horrible. They turned Bo and Luke into bumbling, cussing, sleazy hillbillies. They must have sad the g...d.... word about 50 times, along with a lot of other cussing. Although they were trying to ease racial tensions by joking about the confederate flag, they achieved the opposite and succesfully succeeded in stereotyping black people into angry gangsta rapping thugs throughout the movie. It was awful. The ONLY good part about the movie was the car stunts and the few scattered "pauses" with the narrator saying something witty. Jessica Simpson played a bad Daisy (too dingy). Willie Nelson played a bad Uncle Jessie (too vulgar). Burt Reynolds was okay as Boss Hogg. Cooter was pretty good. Rosco was horrible! They made him into an evil tough cop instead of a funny dumb cop. It would have been better if they got a cop off Reno 911 to play him. It kinda felt like I was watching a teen movie with car chases. I left the theatre dissapointed. I wish they would have got the original writers to work on it, and had cameos from all the original cast. That would have been great.

Lil Red Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 i actually didn't mind it too much...pretty much a mindless movie. the only thing i didn't like was the car chases/stunts because i get motion sick really easy, and they made me queasy.
