Do the Mormons ever call you on the phone? They were calling me a couple of months ago, and eventually sent me a Bible. Then they wanted to come over and give me the Book of Mormon. I said okay, and two guys came over. We talked for a long time cuz I wanted to hear what they had to say about their religion. One of the guys said, "We believe that God is a human being, just like us." I just about fell out of my chair, but I was cool and didn't hurt his feelings. Then he said that the Mormons believe they are one of the lost tribes of Israel, and that they came to AMERICA in 1 AD in a BOAT from Israel.  So, I said, "Oh, so the Native Americans were the original Mormons??? He didn't even know how to answer that, poor guy. I haven't heard from them since then.

too funny! :) they were coming to my door, over and over again, and would leave their Watchtower magazine by all the apartment doors. one morning, they woke me up at like 8am (what? i'm a youth minister -- i sleep in!) and i answered the door in pjs and with my hair all wild. needless to say, i wasn't very happy about being woken up and wasn't too nice. :( they haven't been back since :P:

I still remember the time they came to my house.. We had an awesome conversation for like four hours.. By the end of it they had accepted numerous propositions that completely undermine the mormon religion.. Not sure if they were really putting two and two together though.. I didn't want to just overtly attack their beliefs.. I wonder what ever happened to those guys.

If they come back, ask them how in the book of Mormon in Nephi II it can say "Bible, Bible, we've got Bibles" nearly 1000 years before there was such a thing as a bible? 600 years before Christ all there was was a pile of scrolls. Sounds like a 19th century writing to me. :)

there were 2 mormons that came knocking on my door all the time.......it was my fault because i would sit there and tallk to them for a while each time.they kept pressuring me to come to their church all the time. they even gave me a copy of the book of mormons. I read a little of it but i dont know what to think of it. it seemed more like a history book than anything.

One time a couple of them stopped by my friends' house. my friends' invited them back, and more of my friends together and debated them. I wish I could've been there, but I don't think I would've been of much use.

I've never been evangelized by Mormons or JW's. I do get door-to-door Jews for Jesus people though.

We had JW's come through our neighbourhood and we could usually see them soming (we lived on a cul-de-sac). My bro saw them coming one day and grabbed our family bible. He opened the door asked if they wanted to but a bible then shut the door. They never came back. :hehe:

As for Mormons, I have a friend who used to be Mormon, she tells me all the weird things. I can't even begin to think of how anyone can follow it.

Have JW's antagonizing me all the time. I smile, take thier magazines (they burn with a very bright flame) and shoo them off the porch.

The Mormons aren't allowed to come to my house any more...A girl who lived here a couple of years ago kept calling and inviting them over to talk. She would spend hours talking to them and evangelizing them....the people in charge won't send anyone now because she was too good at it... She became a threat to their faith...

Usually when a person of the LDS faith calls your house means you know someone who is Mormon or have a friend of a friend who knows you arn't Mormon. It's really random.

Yep -- totally live in Idaho 4 hours away from SLC so we have PLENTY of Mormons. They always try to convert my little bro which makes me sad because he's only 14. Usually when the kids invite my bro to their ward, we invite them to Mass; there's gotta be a compromise! When they came to my friends house, her mom offered the missionaries water (because it does get really hot) and then began the talk with a prayer. I would totally ask for intercession from Mary and the Saints.

Someone told a story of some little kids on a playground. Mormons went up to them and were trying to tell them about Mormonism and stuff. The little girl said "Well, my church is 2,000 years old and Jesus made it. How about you?" The Mormons walked away...

I thought that was so cool.

I like that Simpsons Epsiode where Marge gets a new doorbell.

"I just had a thought. Maybe we're bothering people by asking them to change their religion."

"You know what. You're right. Let's go find some real jobs."
