Where do you go

I guess since I'm in library school, I find this interesting. What search engine or engines do you use?

You mean like Google? I use Google and Google Images a lot for school...

I usually start with a phrase and try google , then yahoo.
Yahoo is now the most popular search engine, Google is second.

I use Google and if that doesn't work, I ask people who ought to know where to find what I'm looking for. Wikipedia is also very helpful.

Sometimes you find stuff that's not on Google or Yahoo.

I use Google almost exclusively, sometimes MSN. I never use Yahoo.

I use Google. I never use Yahoo since the time they were actually charged with being anti-catholic. Maybe they aren't anymore, but I am still reluctant to use Yahoo.

Yahoo and Google are both cool, but I would bet there is some business that both of them do, that I wouldn't like, if I knew about it. The thing is, boycotts traditionally are not an effective means of enacting change. They really don't hurt businesses that much.

Also, in today's climate, there's really nowhere to run.

For that reason, I use the companies that provide the best service. Yahoo and Google are it.

I google everything. When i am bored at work, and Phatmass is a little slow...I just google random things.

Here was today's google fun:

I googled my name and a whole bunch of results came back with girls with my name.

Then I googled what my name will be after I am married, and only one result came back.

Conclusion: This was a pointless exercise.

Congratulations on going to library school! As a university librarian this is one of the questions we used to ask people interviewing for a position. The answer was always google. However, we have tons of information databases as well. You will learn all about that! Enjoy!
