who spelled something wrong? me right?

fa shaw is supposed to be spelled like that because that hows it pronounced.

Dude, you're 14...open yourself up to what is out there rather than act on your pride in determining that rock and hip hop are evil.

I think everyone has a good point.

It's okay to think that Rock music is bad. Read 'Spirit of the Liturgy.'

as for rap used to glorify God, it's possible and I think PhatMass artists are a good example of that.

These same issues have come up not a few times in the Debate Forum. In reality, it isn't a matter of opinion. Life is short, so Praise God.

Is Rap the greatest Testament to the Golry of God, no. It can be testament to the Golry of God, nonetheless.

Here are two examples:

Father Stan (and all the other PhatMass rappers) who pursue Holiness and rap for and about Christ and His Church.

-and-

The Catholic rapper the Apologist gave, he sacrificed rapping to live a life of Holiness and to do God's work with Miles Jesu.

EENS, I think it's great and a step towards holiness to detatch yourself from the things of this world. In your efforts to stop listening to rock music, or other various forms of secular styles, I commend you.

As for the Phat Mass crew, you all are awesome! Deo Gratias

I like "THE DEVIL IS GAY". I'd wear it. Good theology.

but is lucifer gay?

Posted (edited)

Technically he couldn't has he really has no gender to begin with.

That one you have to be careful with as it makes it sound perfectly evil to have any gay temptations.

Oh, as for close-minded, the Holy Father did say something against rap music and rock music...

He thinks they're the reason for the downfall of our society. :)

I think that Sam, though many may disagree with what he's said, has the right idea. He's argued against the T-shirt, and didn't call anyone close-minded or such. Argue the idea, not the person.

[quote name='musturde' date='Aug 27 2005, 02:41 PM']You have to look deeper into the meaning of the word. The word "smells of elderberries" can also be argued to have a  "bad" meaning but it's not if you don't use it in a bad way.

Is the sentance, "My new vaccum cleaner really smells of elderberries" a bad way to use "smells of elderberries"?

I would say that it is the sex and drugs that go along with the rock and roll, though I would say again that they are not intregal to the system.

That reminds me of a funny joke on the simpsons, where was by a vent and heard it click on, at which point the show ended with the question,

"Wait a minute...does this smell of elderberries or blow?"

And to answer your question about the vacuum, if it's dirt and junk, it's fine. But no little sisters. :P:
