homeschoolmom Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005
I usually sing Sunrise Sunset before a wedding,
Waaaaahhhh...
Laudate_Dominum Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 I have enough friends who play traditional Irish music that I could have a live band or two for the reception. Maybe some other music too for certain dances.. The wedding Mass will be all gregorian chant! I guess its really more up to my future wife's preference. I think in this arena its the man's job to defer to his beloved. : I really don't like the "here comes the bride" song though.. I'm not dogmatic about it, but it would definitely be something that I would resist, but it wouldn't be worth actually quarelling over. If it would make my bride that happy it would probably become my preference.
picchick Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 I think that when I get married my mom will cry.

Sojourner Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005
I think that when I get married my mom will cry.
I"m sure my mom will cry. And I'll probably cry too. As far as music ... I honestly haven't given it much thought. I want it to be classic, but not the "usuals." I've given some thought to just having a small group of people do something a cappella -- I love the sound of the blend of human voices. Luckily, I know some good singers.

It's a "my kids are growing up too fast and this song only reminds me of that fact" cry.... I took my daughter shoe shopping and we had to head to the ladies section... <sigh>
picchick Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 It is a good thing to cry I think. I know that if I have kids I will cry. Like a good mom would do

FlyLikeABird Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005
THE CHICKEN DANCE SONG Ah, but that is for AFTER mass! Something classical or celtic for me, violins, harps, that kind of stuff.
I'm going to tell you guys what songs I want at my celebration of vows as that will be my "wedding". These are more contemporary but I love the words to each. "As the Deer" for an entrance "As I Kneel Before You" for offertory "Power of Your Love", "Here I am Lord" and "Only This I Want" at communion and lastly "Shout to the Lord" as a closing
azaelia Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 I have no idea what songs I want played for my wedding ceremony...but I have some ideas for my wedding song at the reception : Come What May Set Me As A Seal Book Of Love Those are pretty much what my future husband has to choose from.
