Extra ecclesiam nulla salus Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 I will pray for all of you, the situation looks really bad. God Bless all of you, sam
Birgitta Noel Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 There are no words to describe what we're seeing from LA, MS, etc. May our Lord keep those who are stranded safe, calm those who are out of control, and comfort those who mourn loss of loved ones, and homes. May he give all those who are trying to coordinate rescue efforts and govern strength, perseverance, and wisdom.
lifeteenchick527 Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 yeah i have three friends who live in BR... and they're doing okay... but they know people who have died God Bless LTC
robguitar Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 I live in B.R. and, as a city, we're fine. Mostly power outages and trees/debris all over the place. Seeing some of the damage of N.O. is hearbreaking. The local news here is almost unbearable. If you watch Fox they can give you the big picture but locally, our reporters on the ABC affiliate have teamed up with the N.O. affiliate (their tower is out) and the personal commentary is gut wrenching. Some have almost come to tears as they interview survivors and a few newscasters are looking for family. Most don't have a home anymore. With the breach in the levee, it will get worse before it gets better.
CatholicAndFanatical Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 I hope everyone got out ok. my heart is literally broke over this. Very sad Has anyone heard from vera or ryan meyers? Wheres Dust located at? He's in Texas isnt he?
Birgitta Noel Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 Yes, dUSt is in Texas. We haven't heard from Vera, Ryan, M.Sigga, Karin (through others), ummmm, I know there are more. I don't think many at all have checked in. I pray that they are all safe.
WCC_Catholic Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 i live in new orleans i am now in plano tx we are safe but we have nothing
FutureSoror Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 My uncle lives in New Orleans. One of those levees that broke open letting all the water into the city was right behind his house. It is certainly gone-- No one has heard from him. He needs prayers. My mom is worried.
ryanmeyersmusic Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 Evacuated my family to Birmingham today... Tree went through our house, but other than that we're OK. Praise God that only material possessions were damaged and not my family. Understanding why we store our treasures in heaven more and more every day now. Very tired and have to go back for more family tomorrow. Be blessed and thank you for your prayers. Ryan
Birgitta Noel Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 So glad to hear from you all! Continued prayers for those missing. Ryan, WCC, what can we do to help?
CatholicAndFanatical Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 yea glad to hear from you guys. Im so glad you got out ok!
VeraMaria Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005
I hope Vera posts.. I worry about that girl.
Hola! I just got power back yesterday...we didn't have power since Thursday, and the last week had to go to a hotel because a tropical Miami August without air conditioning is unbreatheable. No wonder no one moved here before AC was invented. But no one here in south FL complains, because when Katrina hit us (the eye passed right over us) it was only a category 1 (although the damage was incredible, not by flooding, but by the winds, 70% of the trees (not the palm trees, theyre sturdy, but mainly ficus) were uprooted...we couldnt have school from last wednesday to yesterday) and it's nothing compared to New Orleans, so we're just cleaning up and getting ready to receive some refugees. Prayers for all those from and still in New Orleans
theculturewarrior Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 I'm happy to see you safe and sound.
