phatcatholic Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 oh the words of Jeremiah!!!!!!!!!!!! they touched my soul today!!!!! Jer 20: 7-9 7 You duped me, O LORD, and I let myself be duped; you were too strong for me, and you triumphed. All the day I am an object of laughter; everyone mocks me. 8 Whenever I speak, I must cry out, violence and outrage is my message; The word of the LORD has brought me derision and reproach all the day. 9 I say to myself, I will not mention him, I will speak in his name no more. But then it becomes like fire burning in my heart, imprisoned in my bones; I grow weary holding it in, I CANNOT ENDURE IT!!!! when i heard those words today, i just felt my whole self imploring to the Lord: "Please Lord, use me as your instrument to teach your people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I literally wanted to stand on top of my pew and just start preaching to the whole church right then and there. it was very overwhelming and holding it in made me want to cry. i dunno, just needed to tell someone about it.......
Laudate_Dominum Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 I actually remember experiencing something somewhat similar from that exact same reading a couple years ago!! That's so awesome!
Christie_M Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 (edited) I don't really pay attintion today Edited August 29, 2005 by Christie_M
Sojourner Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 I was also struck by the reading today ... it's very powerful.
Brother Adam Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 I almost cried at mass today too. There wasn't a single liturgical abuse to be found. And there was more Latin used that I had ever heard before at a NO mass, and it wasn't a "latin mass". It was shocking. It was also packed. Standing room only. We barely got seats. Ended up behind Dr. Hahn and Regis Martin.

Tony Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 My Priest was quick to point out how honest Jeremiah is with our Lord and still had love for Him. "You duped me!"
Brother Adam Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005
yea................i'm EXCEEDINGLY jealous
Don't be jealous. We need to see masses like this spread like wildfire through the Church. I can't help but to think this is the way the NO mass is suppose to be and it is awesome. Not a single EM to be found. Not a single female alter server. Gregorian chant!!! The organ was used as well. It was A-mazing. I think I'm going to write Msgr Yontz a letter of thanks and encouragement.
brendan1104 Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 I went to the Dominican Nuns' chapel today for Mass, and observed a third order meeting afterwards, it was so beautiful! They chanted everything! And alot of it was in latin, no abuse! I think dupe sounds funny I almost burst out laughing at Mass.... sorry Lord,
Maddalena Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 We sang "What Wondrous Love Love Is This?" at Mass on Saturday. The way the organ played it, the way the choir sang it, and the words really got to me. It was beautiful.
Laudate_Dominum Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 I went to the Tridentine Mass so the readings were different.

jmjtina Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 nick, I'm sure God has something in store for you!!!! actually, it was the 2nd readings that really spoke to me today.
I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God, your spiritual worship. Do not conform yourselves to this age but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and pleasing and perfect.
Father mentioned in his homily that every Sunday we are witnesses to a far greater miracle than the resurrection of the young man of Naim. How very true. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass...the greatest gift on earth!
Philippe Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 i got to do the first reading at Mass today, it was a really cool reading and it really let me use emotion through the text.
