White Knight Posted October 3, 2005 Author Posted October 3, 2005
Whoa there! please don't misunderstand. I said the fight at the end made me laugh. That is, they were fighting on neon lit platforms in a river of lava. And the heat didn't seem to bother them...well until anakin was actually in the lava. Something about that scene seems a little unrealistic. The scene just looked fake. Now, i realize that STAR WARS is <a style='text-decoration: none; border-bottom: 3px double;' href="http://www.qklinkserver.com/lm/rtl3.asp?si=92&k=science%20fiction&st=1" onmouseover="window.status='Search for: science fiction'; self.ql_skeyphrase='science%20fiction'; if(window.event) self.ql_sevent=window.event.srcElement; self.ql_timeout = setTimeout('ql_doMouseOver(1)', 1000); self.ql_isOverLink=true; return true;" onclick="if(self.ql_timeout) clearTimeout(self.ql_timeout); self.ql_isOverTip = false; ql_closeiframe(); self.ql_skeyphrase='science%20fiction'; window.status='Search for: science fiction';return true;" onmouseout="window.status=''; if(self.ql_timeout) clearTimeout(self.ql_timeout); self.ql_isOverTip = false; setTimeout('ql_closeiframe()', 1500); ">science fiction</a>, but the laws of physics still should apply to a certain degree. The state of anakins body after the fight did NOT make me laugh....if that's what you interpreted from my comment. Also... I don't see how clapping when Darth Vader officially comes into the scene is a horrible act. ( No, i don't approve of clapping in the <a style='text-decoration: none; border-bottom: 3px double;' href="http://www.qklinkserver.com/lm/rtl3.asp?si=92&k=movie%20theater&st=1" onmouseover="window.status='Search for: movie theater'; self.ql_skeyphrase='movie%20theater'; if(window.event) self.ql_sevent=window.event.srcElement; self.ql_timeout = setTimeout('ql_doMouseOver(1)', 1000); self.ql_isOverLink=true; return true;" onclick="if(self.ql_timeout) clearTimeout(self.ql_timeout); self.ql_isOverTip = false; ql_closeiframe(); self.ql_skeyphrase='movie%20theater'; window.status='Search for: movie theater';return true;" onmouseout="window.status=''; if(self.ql_timeout) clearTimeout(self.ql_timeout); self.ql_isOverTip = false; setTimeout('ql_closeiframe()', 1500); ">movie theater</a>. It's pointless!) Perhaps the person was such a huge SW fan and they really liked the character of Darth Vader. Some people get really excited to see the key decisive points in the series. To call this person "SICK" just seems like a bit fast of a judgment of someone's intentions. peace, -Joe
Star Wars is fantasy my friend. George even admited to it.
Duc_In_Altum Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005
Star Wars is fantasy my friend. George even admited to it.
Yes, i know. but that doesn't mean physics cannot apply. All i said that i would perfer it look and be more realistic. Fantasy doesn't mean that everything has to be unbelievable.
onathing1 Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 for as awesome as everything in this movie was, george lucas should never, ever direct a movie where he wants to show any form of emotion..hes just no good at it! as soon as someone shows emotional pain, happiness, ect. he skips right on to something else. all in all though i believe this is a very good movie.
MC IMaGiNaZUN Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 hell yeah it is corny. But that doesnt make it an unenjoyable movie. The emotions, the themes, and even the special effects. There is nothing like it. It isn't really my favorite movie over all, because the other ones have better balance in other areas. But i cannot make a list, because i will spend all night trying to sort it out. SHALOM
onathing1 Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 i agree with you, by all means it's an enjoyable movie. i like all the old ones better then any of the new ones until episode three came out. episodes one and two were just a waste of time and money. this one was definately worth it.
Guest Mr. E Posted October 9, 2005 Posted October 9, 2005 Well, I'm probably not going to win any friends by saying this... but there's an incredible amount of thinly veiled new age and gnostic references throughout all these movies and "Sith" in particular has some downright attacks on Christianity. There's a moment where Yoda says something very close to: (I have to paraphrase, I saw it when it came out a while back.) "Anyone who says "Whoever is not with me is against me" is a fool." Well....The words used in the movie are the exact same words as our Lord used.... I don't believe that was a coincidence. Look, I've been a fan since they came out... I've seen them all, but this scene REALLY bothered me. I'm not one of those people that rails against every secular piece of art, definitely not... but this is a direct attack. Pax Paul Ellis
