I have to disagree. I've been using Carmex since I was 16 (and not necessarily every day, but often enough, I always have a tube/jar/stick within reach). For a period of nearly a YEAR I had horribly cracked dry lips, I tried every lip balm on the market. My mom even joked that my lips looked like they had leprosy. Finally one day my dad gave me this old decrepit little jar of Carmex. "Noooo, not that gross smelly stuff!" He assured me that it works like a charm and that jar was nearly as old as I was. "Ewwww." He just put the jar in my hand. After cleaning off the top layer of it I begrudgingly slathered a little bit on. My lips had never been happier and now whenever my lips feel dry I pull out my Carmex. My whole family uses it. Other lip balms actually dry my lips out, and even make them feel itchy and bumpy (most especially flavored or scented varities) like I have a rash or something (its a wonder I can even wear lipstick!).

Carmex is the way to go. And it only costs around a dollar.
