in order to avoid public humiliation i wont name the place that i learned this song...

i need your help though in remembering the words....

it starts out talking about a house in the woods and you make a box with your fingers
then out of nowhere a rabbit comes along and you like see him in your window or something
and its like

"help me! help me! if you please..." (or is it would you please?) :idontknow:
"...before the hunter exterminates me!"

"little rabbit come inside, safely to abide."

i know its not much to go on but i really wanna remember!

In a cabin in the woods
Little man by the window stood
Saw a rabbit hoping by
Knocking at the door

"Help me! Help me, Help" he cried
lest the hunter shoot me dead.
"Little rabbit, come inside.
Safely you'll abide."

That's the only song I can think of that sounds similar...

I know all the hand motions to that song, both the big, medium and small versions.

Help me Help me sir he said
afore the farmer shoots me dead
Come little rabbit ,come with me.
Happy we will always be.

I was a Girl Scout leader for 20 years, I remember all these songs.

I learned a different version...

In a cabin in the woods
Little man by the window stood
Saw a rabbit hoping by
Knocking at the door

"Help me! Help me!" was his plea
Before the hunter exterminates me.
"Little rabbit, come inside.
Safely you'll abide."

Just a slight difference

Barney ruined so many good songs by making them politically correct :annoyed:

I thought he ruined them by putting them in the mouth of a large stupid purple dinosaur. But that's just me.

Yet another version my daughter learned in pre school:

Little cabin in the woods
Little man by the window stood
Little bunny stopping by
Knocking on the door.

"Help me! Help me! Help!" cried he,
"See the hunter shoots at me"
"Come on in " the little man said.
"Sit down by the fire."

Of course this has nothing to do with the song Little Bunny Foo Foo. That's another song!

My kids were singing the song from "Robin Hood" that goes "Robin Hood and Little John running through the forest...." Then I sang, "scooping up the fieldmice and bopping them on the head."

They do not appreciate our in the van sing-a-longs... :ohno:
