infinitelord1 Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 i see 2 options here...........allow gay priests to continue and let the rest of the non-catholics slander priests for being child molestors........furthermore to repel any potential conversions to catholicism. Or ban priests who are gay along with their supporters and bring in new people who uphold the scripture (converting to catholicism) and have less liberal catholics. I choose banning the gay priests.
son_of_angels Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 I agree with the need for this document and evaluation, but I don't think it'll do a wink for stopping child abuse. That is a disorder in and of itself. It might stop the homosexual scandal being attached to many diocesan and Jesuit seminaries these days though.
Sinner Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 ay yi yi........ just follow the Papa. OR SHADDUP!!!!!!
curtins Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 my parents were in Boston during that Gay and lesbian parade week day thing. They went to mass at the Paulice Center. At the begining of Mass the preist says " We welcome all of our gay and lesbian freinds who are here in Boston this week"
thessalonian Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 The Pope needs to stick to his guy. There is going to be a secular squeal about this as well. I would be surprized if the Church is not eventually sued over it. It may even cause a split in the Church. It's time to separate the sheep from the goats. Blessings
Dave Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 Someone wanted to know if there are any good Jesuits out there ... Fr. Joseph Fessio is one. And the late Fr. John Hardon is another. I also know of a very orthodox guy from a previous parish of mine who's a Jesuit now ... unless the Jesuits made him lose his faith (but I highly doubt that would be the case ).
annie Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 Nothing wrong with welcoming gay and lesbian PEOPLE (as mentioned above in Boston) but that comment must be chased with a clear teaching on absinence, and I would agree that gay men should not be allowed to be priests.
CatholicCid Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005
Some have said clergy are considering staging a strike on a Sunday, to show how critical gay priests are to serving the church.
Yep, performinging the Mass, the Sacrafice of our Lord, is just another job you can strike on...
Two men considering a religious vocation were having a conversation. "What is similar about the Jesuit and Dominican Orders? " the one asked. The second replied, "Well, they were both founded by Spaniards -- St. Dominic for the Dominicans, and St. Ignatius of Loyola for the Jesuits. They were also both founded to combat heresy -- the Dominicans to fight the Albigensians, and the Jesuits to fight the Protestants." "What is different about the Jesuit and Dominican Orders?" "Met any Albigensians lately?"
