photosynthesis Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005
Have you read what the Curt Jester had to say??? Absolutely hilarious.....
haha... I love the Curt Jester... he's the one i got the prayboy and spirits illustrated pics in my "new avatar" thread. I hate it when people try to convince me how the Church is "oppressing" me by not allowing me to be a priest. Every time I tell someone in my family about the fact that I'm open to religious life, they say "well why aren't you open to the priesthood? couldn't God call you to be a priest?" "You're so oppressed because of all the limited roles the church gives you." Whatever. I wonder if these We Are Church people ever stopped to consider the fact that Catholic women don't WANT to be priests because God doesn't call women to that vocation.
Nathan Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005
I predict their next suggestion is to get rid of that whole "worshipping God" bit. It's turning away the atheists!
Yeah. That whole "Jesus" thing is getting kind of old, anyway.
Didacus Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005
We Are Church, founded in Austria in 1995, emerged as an international movement the following year, with liberal Catholics from 20 different countries meeting in Rome to form a united front for "the reform of the Catholic Church on the basis of Vatican II."
On the basis of Vatican II?!?!? True, these people might be comical, but I do not find them funny at all! its groups like this that confuse the masses and undermine the authority and the unity of the church by speaking with false authority of their own. I actually hope the Vatican (B16?) give an honest and respectful reply to these people that would at least gives the laypeople of the church a basis to stand on in order to be re-assured of the pure folly they advance. On another note, 'we are church'; could they find a more useless way to spend their time? No T-shirts for them!
Didacus Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005
Heretics.
Wouldn't they be 'anathema' if they were baptised?
