missionseeker Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 depends on the day. It sounds like fun. What reactions do you get?
keighters Posted October 19, 2005 Author Posted October 19, 2005 most laugh... some walk away really quickly... i've gotten a few "no thanks" or "not right now" my favorite though was when a kid told me he'd bring a sword on thrusday... yessss!!!! i'd better practice.
missionseeker Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 when my friends and I were on a mission trip in Mobile, we sat on the porch and waved at everyone who passed by. It was so funny. By Wednesday afternoon we had the regulars trained to wave. And there was this jogger. We called him Mr. Jogger Guy, who ran by and talked to us. And we did it in the car. And the nicest ones were the mailmen and the cops.
philothea Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 Love the pic. Whenever I get a long piece of something at the home center (like a curtain rod, or a piece of conduit) as I carry it around I have an urge to whack people with it. I must play too many RPGs. I'm not a violent person, really!
DemonSlayer Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 It'd be better if it were a real sword or maybe a chainsaw.
Anastasia13 Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005
nope, not weird at all
Girl, you and I may have a few things in common. You posted almost exactly what I was going to until I saw this.
keighters Posted October 19, 2005 Author Posted October 19, 2005
Yes. That's weird.
hmmm. thank you.
Jaime Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 She may be referring to how you spell "duel". Because that's weird!

Jaime Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 What if she's an English major? Wouldn't it be weird that she spelled duel wrong?
Sojourner Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 Well, it would definitely be odd to challenge someone to a dual. Would that be a battle between split personalities? Or would it be a multi-purpose battle? Or, would it simply involve being equally talented in swordplay with both your left and right hands, ala The Princess Bride?

Yes. A swordfight is a "duel," whereas "dual" refers to two of something (dual nature, dual purposes, etc.) Inigo Montoya: You are wonderful. Man in Black: Thank you; I've worked hard to become so. Inigo Montoya: I admit it, you are better than I am. Man in Black: Then why are you smiling? Inigo Montoya: Because I know something you don't know. Man in Black: And what is that? Inigo Montoya: I... am not left-handed. [Moves his sword to his right hand and gains an advantage] Man in Black: You are amazing. Inigo Montoya: I ought to be, after 20 years. Man in Black: Oh, there's something I ought to tell you. Inigo Montoya: Tell me. Man in Black: I'm not left-handed either.
