Kilroy the Ninja Posted October 23, 2005 Author Posted October 23, 2005 It's just the first game and I think we played better than most Sox fans expected us to. The fact that we made it to the World Series is awesome enough in it's own right Winning the whole thing would be truly great, but I won't be unhappy, or less of a fan if we don't. (I don't imagine Yankees fans gave up on them when Boston won last year, or when they didn't make it to the Series this year). The real problem I have is with these fans who are just so rude. I'm not saying there aren't rude Astros fans, I'm sure there are. But some of those Cardinals fans were down right nasty to us. So far the Sox fans haven't been too bad (and this is only what I've seen on tv, not here at PM). I wish everyone would keep it in perspective. It's just a game. It's just entertainment. It's not even really life-changing even if you got to go to one of the Series games. I'm a fan, but I'm not fanatical. Baseball is fun, but it is not life's blood. That's a good thing to remember on a Sunday. So, that being said, [color=red]GO ASTROS!!!!!!![/color]

(They already are insufferable) The only times I cheer for the National league is when the Yankees or (sadly) the White Sox are in it. Personally I think the Sox are setting up their fans for the biggest heartbreak ever! Go Astros!!

Baseball is not just fun to me... it is life... it is a religion. I was at Opening Day the last 3 years, and was at the first 3 games this postseason. I have missed 4 classes thus far for the White Sox this school year (not counting the ones from last school year in the beginning of the season), and will be missing classes on Tuesday and Wednesday... this is a possible once in a lifetime opportunity for me, and I plan on soaking it all up as much as possible. GO WHITE SOX!

megrc Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 Kilroy, I hate to be the one to tell you guys this, but I don't think the 'Stros are gonna do it this year. They have lost 2 of the major games already and they are now being forced to leave the Juice Box(for non-Houstonians that's Minute Maid Park) open tonight. I'm just as excited as you are about the World Series coming here, but I don't think they got what it takes.

Even if we're swept in the end we're still making the Sox work for it. Instant replay should be banned.
