I'm sure this has been seen by several people already. It's an anti-Catholic forum. The anti-Catholics who run it are fairly juvenile and cannot justify most of their attacks.

But...it's a good place to practice apologetics.

Sort of an apologetics Spring Training site if you will.

There certainly are many!

I work an alternating shift schedule at my job. When working nights -- 11p to 7a -- I never change my schedule back to "normal" on weekends. This means that I stay up all night on Saturday and Sunday.

Choices for entertainment while my wife and kids are asleep are limited!

So -- instead of watching infomercials -- I have found a great hobby of trolling the internet looking for anti-Catholic websites.

So many of these people drone out the tired old statements! They're easy to refute. But...it's great fun to counter their views.

And...if they have a forum...you can draw them out and refute them in public!

Perhaps it's a bit mean-spririted to do this, but I feel I'm defending the Church, using my time productively and having a great time doing it.

:D:

With all due respect, your world is hellish!

But, back to topic -- I've already been banned...TWICE!...by the administrator of that forum. The guy simply can't handle being called on the inconsistencies of his own dogma. He has a hard enough time defending his attacks on Catholics...

I come from a military background -- and the best defense is always a good offense (in fact, my old Division's motto was ATTACK! ATTACK! ATTACK!). It seems our friend's defenses were weak.

That board seems like it's just one guy taking on Catholicism. Since it's his board I don't think he will ever be fair.

Took a quick stroll. I wish I could, but I'm still in the 'learning enough to talk with confidence' stage here. I don't think I'd be very constructive if I started posting on that site.

Good work though, and I don't believe this sort of thing is mean spirited; the guy even calls on all catholics to debate (on basis of Sola Scriptura of course).
I've been learning like crazy in the last few months (getting closer to a year now), and I'll get there. Just another 8hours per day of phatamassing for the next year or two nad I might know enough to start debating on sites like that (at least I hope).

God bless!

I wonder if he could get in trouble for copyright stuff... doesn't Norman Geisler do the "Answering _______" religion series? There is a book by that exact title.

I come requesting reinforcements. I myself have decided to join the 'battle', but we are severely understaffed.

If anyone could register there and help out, I would be very greatful.

wow, talk about close minded. they don't listen to anything! Even from the Bible! Even from THEIR Bible! pray that God opens their hearts! :o

Juvenile isn't the word. "this board is sola scriptura so you can't use history but we can'. "in 1224 Pope Innocent III declared the doctrine of transubstantiation". Apparently they are afraid of anything but their twists on history.

that board is a waste of time. some may deem that uncharitable. so be it.

Shaking the dust off and prayers for them are sometimes the best response we have.

I've invited them here. I've seen one of there members here so far, and they have acted alright. I figure since i cannot get more help over there, I can draw them here were they will be forced to have civilized conversations because of the way we conduct ourselves on this phorum.

Anyways, I do not want to give up hope on them. We still owe it to them to atleast attempt to bring them home, for the sake of their souls.
Remember, no Catholic sources are allowed here.
And the silly Catholic Church list of popes is ridiculous.. . Peter was not a pope, or a bishop of Rome or anywhere else. You choose to belong to a church built on a man, a stone, mine is built on THE ROCK, CHRIST!
And I can give you many links on the history of the Catholic Church and its foundations in paganism. Why do you worship on SUNday??? Mithra anyone?? December 25... Do you even know why that is celebrated as Jesus' Birthday??
It is the Birthday of the Son of Isis ... adopted by the Catholic Church....Just another RC pagan practice!!
If you do any reading on the ECF and the early church you see heresy developed very early on. One just needs to go no further than the WORD for this. There was no Catholic church, no Bishop of Rome, to the extent that there was a pope until 325 AD. Get out of your RC books and read history, not just one book, but many. Read early works, go to Jerusalem, Italy and Greece, it all becomes quite clear, that the Catholic Church is nothing more than a bastardization of Sun Worship and Christianity.
It is clear if you ever walk into the Vatican, and indeed want to give your soul to Christ, you cannot walk in a Catholic and walk out the same.
You have to leave this holy mother of a church, if you so much as have any heart for Christ.
Yeah...this is worse than Jack Chick or David Cloud. It is retarded lunacy. God have mercy on us.
