Nope. Most aren't, actually. There's a ton of different directions you could go with it. If you end up working for a big firm, chances are you'll end up doing some sort of business-related law. Smaller firms often handle the same kinds of work, but for smaller clients. The largest percentage of attorneys deal with business-related things -- contracts, risk assessment, etc. Then, of course, there's the idealistic side of the profession. You could be a prosecutor, a public defender, a legal services provider, and so on. Some lawyers never actually practice -- they use their law degrees in other professions. Personally, I'll probably practice in some form of education-related law, if this is the direction I end up doing. I'll probably also end up doing some form of lobbying, because I love politics and the legislative system.

You name it, there's an attorney for it!

Guest T-Bone Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 I used to want to be an attorney, but I'm barely able to graduate from college.
theculturewarrior Posted November 1, 2005 Author Posted November 1, 2005 *praying for you* Stick with it! If this is your first year, it's an adjustment, and if anybody is going to look at your grades, they're going to weigh the last few semesters heavier than the first.
