theculturewarrior Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 It makes me angry that people would disturb grieving family and friends of a veteran no less, in order to protest ANYTHING. Nevertheless, when phatmassers post articles like these, it turns me off, regardless of whether it's about absurd pro-choicers or doves, or whatever. It's a straw man approach. Pick ten lunatics out of the millions of people who oppose the war and say, "this is who the other side is." That approach is not rational, and it does not examine the anti-war argument at all. I oppose the War in Iraq, although I'm not sure what can be done at this point. I am a proud American though, and I have respect for the dead and grieving. I would guess that most of us do! 10 lunatics out of tens of millions of sane people doesn't constitute an argument.
Anastasia13 Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 How insensitive of those people. I'm glad the motorcycle veterines were there.
Have you ever been spit on by a huge crowd of people? It's not fun. I've had a lot of experiences with angry, violent protesters and can emphatically say that these are not just 10 bad apples out of millions of good ones Did you know public nudity is legal in Washington DC? At the last major anti-war protest in Washington, there was a huge crowd of about 500 people who were completely topless, and nothing happened to them. However, public nudity is illegal in New York City and last year, during the Republican Convention, I saw a huge wave of fully naked people running down 33rd street carrying anti-war signs! it was not a family friendly protest!!! I was sent to go out with this correspondent into a field of angry pro-choice protesters in the blazing heat, and protesters would spit on us and throw things whenever we tried to broadcast remotely. so...I wouldn't say this is just 10 lunatics out of 10 million sane people.
Socrates Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 The modern Left is nothing but pure Lunacy on a major scale.
