davefromcm Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 I know these are pretty narrow categories but there are some I ruled out... for example, I doubt anyone is listening to 100% Catholic music (be pretty short..) Just pick something that is reasonable.
Guest Rick777 Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 i cant ever find a Catholic band or singer I really like.
zunshynn Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 I split my radio time between a Christian station that annoys me a bit cuz it's always reminding me to "make sure I'm saved," and the Catholic radio station, which doesn't have alot of music. As far as CDs, I listen to some secular stuff, Matt Maher, Seven Sorrows, chant, and some random Christian stuff.
Era Might Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 (edited) I chose 25, 25, 50; although it's more like 33.3, 33.4, 33.3. Most Christian hip hop is Protestant, so I don't have much of a choice. If Catholic artists were as numerous as Protestant artists, it would probably be 50, 30, 20. lucasmark83 Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 before I say anything...allow me to make a shameless plug for Friday Mourning...you can either check out our myspace here. or our purevolume here. Personally, I listen to a lot of secular music...and a some christian music, but that's because there are not too many Catholic bands that can pull off the rock thing very well. Cheer Up Charlie is great, and so are Seven Sorrows and Critical Mass (Don't forget about Friday Mourning), but I would love more options...
Proud2BCatholic139 Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 From my church library, I rented the song of our Lady. They are all in Latin. I love it.
Guest Rick777 Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 Gregorian Chant is koo but yah contemporary catholic music as they call isnt catching on

littleflower+JMJ Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 this is a good poll. when it comes to catholic i listen to several bands and rappers so I have enough to listen but not enough to spend 100% of the time. but if its out there, i'm all ears since it would be priority over most as for christian, i thought i listened to it more but i'm not always on my radio, secular is the most but good secular music, not the trashy stuff lol

Asher Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 I listen to all those listed in the poll... though it's probably 25, 25, 50. for catholic music, I listen to the massamatics cd from here, and a fr. stan one. plus the seven sorrows one.
ninjakyle Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 I have really been diggin this band Popple linked here I mean, their stuff is funny and they put on an awesome show. And they are really cute too. They are going to be recording over Christmas break and I can't wait to hear the new stuff!!
megrc Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 I hate to say it, but I listen to more secular music than anything else. But that's mostly because someone broke into my car a few months ago and stole all my CDs, and I'm still trying to replace them all. Has anyone heard of Crispin? I need to try to get another one of their CDs, but I can't find a website.
ryanmeyersmusic Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 http://www.crispinmusic.org/ Google is your friend. And Daniel is mine. I just can't wait for a solo acoustic DiSilva album. Awesome.
sweetpea316 Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 Dude, I totally met Daniel from Crispin this past weekend. Him and Christopher West went out to dinner with a group of us... so fun!
