Brother Adam Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 The e-registration function just let me add a graduate level course even though I'm an undergrad. It is "The Theology of Pope Benedict XVI" with Scott Hahn listed as the instructor. If I can keep it, it would serve me well as one of my theology electives, but I guess we will see. I have a feeling I'll get booted out.
Brother Adam Posted November 16, 2005 Author Posted November 16, 2005 oops...this belongs in Open Mic
megamattman1 Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 Maybe it's one of those classes where they let grad and undergrad mix. That's how we do it at OSU anyway. Maybe you can seek permission to take the class regardless of your status and the rules. They usually let ya do that kinda thing at OSU. What classes does Hahn teach to undergrads? (and in general?)
Brother Adam Posted November 16, 2005 Author Posted November 16, 2005 he is teaching one undergrad course on Christian marriage to undergrads. He didn't teach anything this semester. He used to teach Principles of Biblical Studies, but now he doesn't teach much at all. He only has 3 courses, 2 grad, 1 undergrad next semester. He is also a professor at another Univ, and has so many pet projects he doesn't do much at FUS
Laudate_Dominum Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 I wish Hahn would teach a course on Protestantism.

Laudate_Dominum Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005
haha. It could be THE 666: Heresy in the Modern World Our Trinity class is THE 333: The Trinity
But yeah, its good to study heresy. Just as its invaluable to understand the early heresies to get a grasp on where the Fathers were coming from, its highly enlightening to understand the theologies of protestantism to get deeper insight into post-reformation Catholic Theology. And 20th century Catholic Theology makes more sense in light of modern Protestant Theological systems. I just think its something that is important for aspiring Catholic Theologians to learn, since it comes up a lot in the scholarly milieu.
annie Posted November 20, 2005 Posted November 20, 2005 megamattman, that is not THE Ohio State University you are speaking of? ps, nice avatar

THE OSU The same OSU where the issue of whether the THE is important. (which it is) The same OSU that had thirty seconds left on the thirty yard line against U of M ch g n and needed a touch down, and OSU got it and won... in classic OSU style.
Totus Tuus Posted November 20, 2005 Posted November 20, 2005 So what is the new sacrament Scott Hahn discovered?

Totus Tuus Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 Yeah, that's a little much for me. Personally I think he's gone a little too far, but he's still a good teacher

Extra ecclesiam nulla salus Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005
t is the most distinctively Catholic of all devotional practices. It has been credited with countless powerful conversions to the Faith. Millions believe it has changed the entire course of human events more than once. It is the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Deeply Profound Meditation Now for the first time, you can enter into this deeply contemplative Christian prayer along with one of the most influential converts of our time as renowned theologian and best-selling Catholic author Dr. Scott Hahn leads The Most Holy Rosary. Of course, the rosary is a perfectly acceptable way to meditate on anything from the Scriptures, but it's a bit weird that he's promoting some like that. Still, not wrong, just odd.
