When the Rain Comes--Third Day

When the rain comes
It seems that everyone is gone away
When the night falls
You wonder if you shouldn't fine some place
To run and hide
Escape the pain
Hiding is such a lonely thing to do

I can't stop the rain
From fallin down on you again
I can't stop the rain
But I will hold you till it goes away

When the rain comes you blame it on the things that you have done
When the storm fades you know that rain must fall on everyone
So rest a while
It'll be alright
No one loves you like I do

I can't stop the rain
From fallin down on you again
I can't stop the rain
But I will hold you

I cant stop the rain
Wrom fallin down on you again
I cant stop the rain
But I will hold you till it goes away

La de da
La de da

When the rain comes
I will hold you

This song is really sad for me because we played it at a praise night in dedication of a member of our church who committed suicide during spring break, after Easter. It was 4 days after his funeral and the guys who were singing the song could barely keep themselves from crying while they were singing.

I just put on the "Les Choristes" soundtrack, which has a really beautiful sad song on it ... it's a great movie, if you don't mind subtitles (or are fluent in French):

Vois sur ton chemin
Vois sur ton chemin
Gamins oubliés égarés
Donne leur la main
Pour les mener
Vers d'autres lendemains

Sens au coeur de la nuit
L'onde d'espoir
Ardeur de la vie
Sentier de gloire

Bonheurs enfantins
Trop vite oubliés effacés
Une lumière dorée brille sans fin
Tout au bout du chemin

Sens au coeur de la nuit
L'onde d'espoir
Ardeur de la vie
Sentier de la gloire
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Look to your path
Children lost, forgotten
Give them a hand
To lead them
To other tomorrows

Direction in the darkest night
Wave of hope
Passion for life
Path of glory

Childhood pleasures
Too soon forgotten, erased
A golden light ever shines
At the end of the path

Direction in the darkest night
Wave of hope
Passion for life
Path of glory

There's a song by Nicole Nordeman called' Why', and it's about a little girl who witnesses the crucifiction of Jesus...I cry all the time, and I don't usually listen to music like that, so I forget how I found it, but ooo it's really good! And anything on the Rock For Life cd is sad. 0o0o0o boy there are a bunch of sad songs that I know I just can't think of them right now :sadder:

All In Love Is Fair - Stevie Wonder
All is fair in love
Love’s a crazy game
Two people vow to stay
In love as one they say
But all is changed with time
The future none can see
The road you leave behind
Ahead lies mystery
But all is fair in love
I had to go away
A writer takes his pen
To write the words again
That all in love is fair

All of fate’s a chance
It’s either good or bad
I tossed my coin to say
In love with me you’d stay
But all in war is so cold
You either win or lose
When all is put away
The losing side I’ll play
But all is fair in love
I should have never left your side
A writer takes his pen
To write the words again
That all in love is fair

A writer takes his pen
To write the words again
That all in love is fair
I saw it at a film festival in Indianapolis ... you should rent it or borrow it from the library; I know it's out on DVD now. As a fellow chorus geek, I'm sure you'd like it. I'd also recommend the soundtrack. There are some hauntingly beautiful songs on it.

Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own by U2
My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion
Cry by Mandy Moore
Cry In My Sleep by The Wayside (a really sad rock for life song about a woman who had an abortion and cries in her sleep every night, wishing she could have her baby back. That's enough to turn on my waterworks :sadder:

I think I'm in love with Dave.

He listens to many of the same songs I do.
