woah... you missed out!

haha, well, I think boy meets world mostly holds a special place in the hearts of people who watched it while growing up, or people whose kids were growing up while the show was going on.

Is there any issue with having college loans to pay off when you enter a religious order?

I like to hang with my ABC afterschool special friends. :(

Well, can't you just make your major something religious related? Like take some extra philosophy courses and religious studies. This may help you if you feel that you are called to that vocation.

You can even get a Theology degree or a degree in religious studies. Why not look into switching to a religious university and look into that? I am sure (unless it is from that specific university) that your scolarship will work at any place of study.

And applying means that you may not even be going for 9 months. If you decide not to go, you have LOTS of time to discuss it with parents, but if you withdrew your application, you may be too late to reapply if you decide you want to go.

[quote name='memtherose' date='Dec 9 2005, 02:39 PM']Exactly. And what use is a degree in English and Medieval history in a monastery?!? Especially a cloistered contemplative one. If I was to get a degree, I should be getting one in plumbing or something practical lol!!!!

Oh well, I'll just keep praying.

not if you fake your own death and enter under a different name!!!

haha, that's what you should do: take four years and max out a billion credit cards livin up the high life! then fake your own death and leave no one in the will that can be forced to pay for your debts!

hmm... actually, you could probably just diclare bancrupcy right before entering. it's not like it matters to you what your credit score will be at that point, right?

Well, there you go. I remember reading about it in the "new fall shows" section of the paper... Fred Savage's little brother yadda, yadda... and I thought, "six weeks-- tops"

Then I'd see it was STILL on... with the same kids... it was all Saved By the Bellish... :pinch:

well, of course... but you shouldn't restrict the term "education" to schools.

let's not kid ourselves, most colleges and universities nowadays exist primarily for the purpose of giving people degrees with which they can get good carreers and secondarily for the persuit of higher education.

well you never know---really you don't!

our diocese just got an awesome new priest who went to get his bachelors in Computer Science and was about to get his Master's in International Relations and about to become some millionarie when he started his business.

He dropped it to go to the seminary and is one AWESOME priest and got placed in the Chancery as the Evangelization office.....

this guy is able to put together his education to use when he thought it was ending up to be a waste of time lol

he knows the business and marking world inside and out, and lets him do his job very well--and is thankful for it......so you never know! ;)

i'm really not sure since it depends on the order.

I know some of them like to hear you already completed a BS or BA because you can do alot with a degree.
