photosynthesis Posted January 19, 2006 Author Posted January 19, 2006 no caffeine... now that will be a true test of virtue
prose Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 How much would you like to lose? (weight, not coffee)
prose Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 Interesting article by the way: http://www.healthyweightforum.org/eng/arti...atchers_points/

My aunt is a dietician and she says their points formula is good idea. I can relate to what the one dieter said about being obsessed with food. I have definitely been thinking about food a LOT more than I usually do. However, it does make me more aware about how much food (measured in points) I should be eating, and how much I used to be eating. I get 24 points a day, and I can spend them however I like, provided that I eat 5 fruits + vegetables a day, 2 servings of milk/coagulated milk/etc and 6 glasses of water (coffee doesn't count ) There are some foods I used to eat that would be 1/2 my total points allotment for the day

So I'd probably have to lose 10 pounds to do that. If I want to go back to the weight I was sophomore year, I'd have to lose 25 pounds. If I wanted to be what weight watchers deems as the correct weight for my height, I'd probably have to lose about 60 pounds.
Guest Rick777 Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 Good, luck with all this, I guess I shouldnt tell you that Im having late night cravings so Im gonna eat my leftovers from earlier.....we had mexican! and maybe ill watch lotr 2 towers.......
photosynthesis Posted January 19, 2006 Author Posted January 19, 2006 mmmm! I love mexican luckily if you change some of the ingredients you use, you can make everyday foods healthier... like we are now using low carb tortillas, low fat coagulated milk and fat free sour cream. I don't know how they make sour cream fat free, but so far I don't notice
Guest Rick777 Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 (edited) i cant imagine food w/o sour cream! or ketchup...or coagulated milk or............maybe i should diet too : Edited January 19, 2006 by Rick777
photosynthesis Posted January 19, 2006 Author Posted January 19, 2006 I appreciate any prayer I can get!
Fides_et_Ratio Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 I got two books and have been trying to make my own weightloss program out of them. Mostly though, it's been easy since my family is a fan of organic foods (less preservatives and artificial stuff). I got the SuperFoods book and The Maker's Diet from my library and have been skimming through both. I'm aiming to lose about 60 in the long run (right now I settle for losing the 15 pounds I gained on the cruise I took over the summer. lol)
philothea Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006
actually i gave up coffee for Lent last year and was successful... but it wasn't easy, and i wasn't having sleep issues... although maybe i wasn't having sleep issues because i gave up caffeine... photosynthesis Posted January 20, 2006 Author Posted January 20, 2006 me too! but when you're on weight watchers, and you exercise, you can earn more food points. So I exercise and then I have chocolate
