If global warming….ah I mean climate change is true fact, then why are the "scientists" that are doing the research hiding their research and fudging the numbers? The reason is b/c the research is not creating the evidence. A global consensual fraud is one in which just about everybody is involved. Scientists, politicians, educators, academics, publishers, journalists, commentators, the intellectual elites, entertainers, the movie industry, celebrities – the list is endless. The success, and the very existence of colossal world-wide frauds proves that science has, in general, degenerated into a simple matter of achieving scientific consensus, and that the honorable scientific method is just about dead.

science generally IS about coming to a consensus about which idea is correct.... it never proves anything... it just says, most people feel that there is good reason to believe that X is the best explanation we have for Y.. so we gonna go with it until someone improves upon it or turns it on its head...

that is all science ever was and ever will be

You know I remember reading Greco-Roman myths and thinking of how crazy it was that people basically thought every good or bad thing that happened in nature was essentially rooted in what they might have done to please or displease some capricious god or goddess, but I was like hey, different time different place that's how they made sense of it all

It's SO ironic that the pro-"science" and anti-religious (not mutually exclusive of course) kinda do the same thing; the earth is becoming less suitable for our living it must be our fault

I must say though, that I've been duped. I once bought into the paranoia about climate change and thought all opposition was just anti-scientific biased jabber. You know I'm not a scientist so on who's authority can I interpret all this data? How do I even decide what data is useful? These people are "experts" who am I to say they're not? I was fooled. I mean I never became an activist or anything that extreme, but I had accepted the "scientific consensus" mantra. To see the parallels between that and the eugenics movement is fascinating, eye-opening, and disturbing.

*sigh* why is almost everything agenda driven?

it's all about Earth's distance from the sun. Closer to the sun, summer and spring. Farther, winter and fall.

I think the seasons are more related to the tilt of the axis than the distance between the earth and the sun.

The anthropogenic global warming hypothesis is strongly supported by the overwhelming majority of current scientific research.

Interesting. Do you always agree with the scientific community's consensus?

Disclaimer: I'm not a climate scientist and I've certainly not published any peer-reviewed research in the field but I do read things here and there as an interested layman. I would dare say this: The anthropogenic global warming hypothesis is strongly supported by the overwhelming majority of current scientific research. Further, the validity of the hypothesis can be described as a "scientific consensus" but this is only to throw into sharp relief the hyperbolic nature of the political controversy and is not itself a scientific principle. Scientific methodology is not about authority and dogmas. Beyond the strictly scientific question I don't really have a whole lot to say other than oy vey.
if it is man-made is the real question? Climate change is nothing new in the grand scheme of things. IE: North America was once covered by glaciers
Earth's climate changes may or may not be caused by the Sun and natural phenomenon and are natural cycles.

Last weekend my stepson's girlfriend needed an audience for a speech for a class online. She started in to the speech and it was global warming. Gag me. I was polite and said "we certainly all agree that recycling is a good thing". What a bunch of drival. Walking by the swamp near my home all week I could smell the methane being given off by the rotting plants. I highly doubt we are giving off nearly as much as nature. Even so it's silly science. Propoganda is all it is. Just like when I was a kid and they said we were headed for an ice age.

I do have a plan to put huge fans up by the canadian border so we in the US can regulate our temperature better. Especially in Minnesota. I'm a card carrying member of minnesotans for global warming.

I don't really care what people think of AGW I just find it amusing how opinionated people often are when they clearly don't know anything about it (this goes both ways btw). "The IPCC is a fraudulent, myth-making, hoax perpetrating con job." Often from someone who has not so much as skimmed the IPCC reports. Does the critic have even the slightest shred of climatological understanding? Often not.
I respect people who have intelligent and informed scientific criticisms of AGW, all the more if those criticisms are published for peer-review; and maybe they're right, but that's a lot different than the irrational mentality which suggests that it's all a hoax and a conspiracy and resorts to innuendo and misinformation to prove the point (see the video I posted above for examples).

Solar output been increasing .05% each decade since the 1970's... hence our hot weather, but it's dropping off...

The "Man Made Global Warming Going Green" religion is for people who:

Don't do the research

Do the research and fail at critical analysis

People who are self centered to make themselves feel like they are actually making a difference about something that matters.
The fact that we've only been keeping history on temperature about a hundred years speaks volumns.
The fact that the heat records on file were about 80 years ago speaks volumns. It's been this hot before, it'll cool again... just like it did before.
The fact of "volcano facts".
The fact that there is a great ball of chaotic fire called the sun that fluctuates over many years speaks volumns.
The fact that the earth's temp has been in fluctuation over the past 4 billion years speaks volumns.

herisson,

No they don't.

First off, just because someone is a scientist does not mean that they know what they are talking about.

Secondly, there are quite a few that just parot other studies, and then when one takes the time to examine these so called "studies", they have many many 'holes' in logic and science.

The same people preaching global warming, preach abortion, enslavement of the poor and middle class via welfare, anti-God, anti-Freedom, pro-marxist propaganda.

The question is not why you should believe the sources I have cited, but what in the world are you thinking listening to the followers of evil.

Go to the links, do the research.

At the most "Man Made Global Warming" is a theory, and a very bad one at that.

A few other things....

I've been saying it was a hoax since they started preaching it because their "studies" and "proof" did not add up, as it was filled with illogical conclusions.

It's a hoax and in the next five years they'll hopefully stop the 'Chicken Little' cries that the sky is falling. These same people will cry that the earth is doomed for an ice age in 20 years.

Bottom line, we currently cannot effect the weather. The earth is much bigger and tougher than these wack jobs on the news would have you believe.

The same people who kill babies preach MMGW... why would you even give them the time of day with their wack job theories?

God Bless,

Yes. Our impact is pretty small, but since climate change is occuring at an increased pace, there are some small things we can do to TRY to "slow it down". Will it significantly help? Maybe, maybe not. Particularly when it comes to energy use and natural resources. It's always good to be kind to nature and God's earth, though. :like:

P.S. The seasons aren't climate change... it's all about Earth's distance from the sun. Closer to the sun, summer and spring. Farther, winter and fall.
There is no evidence that global warming\climate change\...or whatever they call it next is caused by mankind. This being true, doesn’t make it ok to trash the Earth. Mankind has a moral obligation to be good stewards of Earth.

A scientific consensus needs to be based on facts[raw data] from honest and authentic research, and should never be about 'feeling' an 'idea' is correct.
