Andrea348 Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005
My specifications: few or never: tornadoes, hurricanes, lake-effect snow, earthquakes, brush fires, dry spells, avalanches, or floods. Not too hot, not too cold.
those are my requirements too nobody has mentioned new jersey it is a great place for all you peeps who want four distinct seasons, no tornados, no direct hurricanes (only remnants that bring rain), no earthquakes.... but if i HAD to move, i'd be in Oregon.
FlyLikeABird Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 CANADA is a COUNTRY and is WAY TO BIG to be a state! : Be careful what you say about my home and native land! I might just have to give you a noogie. If I were to live in the States I might chose Hawaii, Washington, New York, D.C. or Texas. That is IF I were to live in the states. As for living in Canada I would pick to live in Quebec, New Brunswick, P.E.I., Nova Scotia or B.C.
Pio Nono Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 JMJ 8/28 - Twenty-second Sunday 1. Indiana 2. Indiana 3. Indiana 4. Indiana 5. Georgia What can I say? I like Georgia, esp. Savannah (even though it used to be a prison colony).
Sojourner Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Indiana will always hold a special place in my heart because I know it so well and I have family and so many fantastic friends here. But given the right opportunity, I'd like to try out the following: Alaska -- I've long wanted to go love in Alaska for a year, load up on supplies and live in a cabin in the back country and write. Those of you who know I hate snow and cold may be surprised by this choice, but Alaska has this ethereal beauty to it that's very enticing. Washington, D.C. -- it isn't a state, but for a newspaper reporter it's a happenin' place to be. I've got many friends in D.C., so the adjustment would be bearable ... but I couldn't see myself living there forever. North Carolina -- Now this could be my home away from home. I have a deep-seated affection for North Carolina that just won't go away. My brother lives there, and I've visited several times. Mountains on one end, the ocean on the other, and plenty of beautiful trees in between. Love it. Oregon -- but really only western Oregon. I love the Oregon coast -- it's so wild. I'd love to own a winery in Oregon.
White Knight Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005
No states with snow No states with hurricanes No states in Tornado Alley HELP WHERE DO I WANT TO LIVE?
Washington State? lol about the safest place you'll get. actually anywhere up north, like North of Kansas Ya it snows alot up there, but I think you rather have snow than Hurricanes or Torandos.
