jezic
there are some Churches that can be modern and still done right. (we have a select few in our diocese) We don't have any of the extremely nice ones here though because our diocese was relatively new and behind the times. We do have Catholic people to boot though. :

Our Cathedral is nice, but not as beautiful as I imagine the old one was. They rebuilt it in the 1950's. Its still beautiful and gothic style, though. Extra ecclesiam nulla salus
did you know during the arian Heresy Crisis, Pope Liberius allowed Arianism to infect the church? was that a good idea too? Disobedience: My own conscience is my absolute authority. True Obedience: God through His Catholic Church has absolute authority over my conscience, but in the last resort God meant me to judge, if His hierarchy is departing from His teaching. Obedience to men has limits. --Galatians 1:8-9 False Obedience: The Church hierarchy is the absolute authority. Obedience has no limits.

I am not going to address the rest of your post because frankly, and I say this with upmost respect, you dont know what you are talking about. You do not know enough to be making any kind of judgment upon the magisterium.

Nathan
It's not the most gorgeous parish architecturally, I'll admit. Pretty modern, I guess. But the people make it a beautiful place to be.
