Paladin
Not my home parish, but only 30 minutes away, and a place I used to go to daily Mass when I worked downtown. The Basilica of Saint Lawrence There's a li'l 3D thing on there where you can see the inside of the sanctuary, though it's small and fairly low-res. I'll see if I can't find some more pics. My home parish is Saint Barnabas in lovely Arden, NC. I don't have any pics of the sanctuary (and it's not terribly impressive), though I do have a shot of our crucifix. It doesn't look like much, but the story behind it is interesting... It was carved by a man who survived a Nazi concentration camp. While there, he saw the Nazis crucify a man. He modeled it after that event. crazyc
I don't have any pictures of my church but I think it's nice. It has a lot of very beautiful stained glass. This is the website for the cathedral in our diocese: http://www.stpetercathedral.org This is my mom and her family's church. When I was little we used to visit my grandparents a lot and I would go to Mass here with my aunts. Our diocese also has the youngest bishop in the United States, Bishop Alexander Sample. HisChild
Anyone ever been to St. Thomas the Apostle parish in Phoenix? I went to the Tridentine Mass there once. Nice Church.
that was my parish! I moved to the east valley, and now go to St Mary's but I ST Thomas. It's so beautiful there! If you ever come back, try to visit St Francis Xavier on Central, just down the street from St Thomas. But not during Mass. . .foofy liberals. franciscanheart
oh btw the pictures dont do it justice at all. also click on parish information for a look at the altar. too bad they dont have a picture of the gorgeous stained glass, beautiful statues, and breath-taking organ... not to mention the detail in everything. it's wonderful. edit to say: ooo there's a wonderful photo of the front in the parish organizations tab. i love the way that looks!
