Domine ut Videam Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 I leave for Eagle Eye, a retreat/camp type thing for youth ages 16-20, in Princeville with the Community of St. John on Saturday for 8 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am soooooo excited. The theme this year is based on: “Jesus took bread, and when He had given thanks, broke it and said, ‘This is my body, which will be given up for you. Him and Br.John Luke helped out with a retreat I was working a week or so ago. It was such a blessingto have them with us.

One of them latched onto VeniteAdoremus and tried to get her to go to a camp this summer in Germany or Scotland! It was quite amusing to watch Love and prayers, PP
Sixtina87 Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 THE COMMUNITY OF ST. JOHN IS NOT JUST MADE UP OF BROTHERS. THEY HAVE AWOMENS ORDER AS WELL. BITH ACTIVE AND CONTEMPLATIVE. THEY DONT HAVE AN ACTIVE WOMENS ORDER HERE IN THE STATES YET BUT I KNOW THEY ARE TRYING TO DO SO. THEY ARE CALLED THE COMMUNITY OF ST. JOHN BECAUSE BOTH THE SISTERS AND THE BROTHERS LIVE IN THE SAME CAMPUS BUT IN DIFFERENT HOUSES OF COURSE. THE BROTHERS HELP THE SISTERS BY CELEBRATING MASS FOR THEM AND SO FORTH. AS FAR AS I KNOW THAT HAVE A BEAUTIFUL MONASTERY AND THE COMMUNITY IS AWESOME. THE COMMUNITY OF ST. JOHN IS VERY POPULAR IN THE DIOCESE OF PEORIA AND OF COURSE THATS BECAUSE THEY GIVE ALOT OF THE YOUTH RETREATS FOR AND AS DIOCESE EVENTS.

Eagle Eye was amazing. We were truly soaring for truth and wisdom. I have to go....will write more later......i'm still in shock. He was SOOOO happy, and the joy was just radiating off of him....amazing, incredible........He was truly an instrument of God in my life this past week. He is an amazing man and wow....I was so happy for him. The joy and peace was so evident on his face. I don't think the smile ever left his face, and the church was packed....it was perfect. Plus he was so proud of all of us his eaglets......I was so happy for him.
