Domine ut Videam Posted July 5, 2006 Share Posted July 5, 2006 I leave for Eagle Eye, a retreat/camp type thing for youth ages 16-20, in Princeville with the Community of St. John on Saturday for 8 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am soooooo excited. The theme this year is based on: “Jesus took bread, and when He had given thanks, broke it and said, ‘This is my body, which will be given up for you. One of them latched onto VeniteAdoremus and tried to get her to go to a camp this summer in Germany or Scotland! Sixtina87 Posted July 10, 2006 Share Posted July 10, 2006 THE COMMUNITY OF ST. JOHN IS NOT JUST MADE UP OF BROTHERS. THEY HAVE AWOMENS ORDER AS WELL. BITH ACTIVE AND CONTEMPLATIVE. THEY DONT HAVE AN ACTIVE WOMENS ORDER HERE IN THE STATES YET BUT I KNOW THEY ARE TRYING TO DO SO. THEY ARE CALLED THE COMMUNITY OF ST. JOHN BECAUSE BOTH THE SISTERS AND THE BROTHERS LIVE IN THE SAME CAMPUS BUT IN DIFFERENT HOUSES OF COURSE. THE BROTHERS HELP THE SISTERS BY CELEBRATING MASS FOR THEM AND SO FORTH. AS FAR AS I KNOW THAT HAVE A BEAUTIFUL MONASTERY AND THE COMMUNITY IS AWESOME. THE COMMUNITY OF ST. JOHN IS VERY POPULAR IN THE DIOCESE OF PEORIA AND OF COURSE THATS BECAUSE THEY GIVE ALOT OF THE YOUTH RETREATS FOR AND AS DIOCESE EVENTS. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
