The title of this message board is debate, inter-religious [i]dialogue[/i]. Neither is taking place here. Budge is spamming the board with anti-Catholics rants from his message board site and others hosted at ezboard.com, which I found. Budge has no interest in discussion, but merely wants to regurgitate false accusations about Catholicism.

Initially, I thought Budge might benefit from us letting her know what the truth is about the Catholic faith, but she has no interest in finding the truth. Her master is ego and vanity. She fits the definition of [url="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_troll"]Internet troll[/url].

So, this begs the question: Do we (you phatmass mods) allow Budge posting mania to go on at phatmass OR does it compromise the integrity of our good faith effort at inter-faith dialogue and thus it must come to an end?

Keep giving her rope. She's hanging herself. If a few people go after the stupidity point by point with reasoned responses, it will out itself. I've gone the Mark Twain route because from the get go I felt she was insincere.

no crusade will go there, as long as i have anything to do w/ it. it takes ALOT of experience in debate to:

1. recognize a "red herring", or a bait tactic
2. recognize the host of other logical fallacies they will use
3. avoid becoming emotional
4. avoid becoming uncharitable.

....and most people don't have this experience and this type of skill. that's why our approach to Budge and Eutychus has been largely a failure, imho. of course, it doesn't help when your opponent isn't intellectually honest, and when he relies mostly on sensationalism.

Many years ago, I went on michaelmoore.com, because of my socialist sympathies. I found rampant idiocy and unwillingness to discuss anything with any logic. There's almost no way to reign in a discussion that I've seen.
