Do you want any quotes with it? Your name? Anything?

and maybe that same image in a larger size? (I like to try a few things out when I work...)

Posted

Yes. Perhaps you could say... um... just Pride and Prejudice? In a pretty swirly font... And a larger version of that image please. Thanks!

that one looks nice, if I were a girl I would use it (maybe)

My sister insisted that I make this one with a picture from "the real Pride and Prejudice." (She's very much agitated by the Hollywood production because it doesn't follow the book. lol I would quote exactly what she said, but she was in such a passion about it I honestly can't remeber exactly WHAT she said, just HOW she said it. I do recall something about no one can be as good a Mr. Darcy as Colin Firth...)

all i have is MS paint and that does funky stuff to letters when I try to type on them. anyone with photoshop or GIMP can help?

I think I'd like it in black. I'm not sure where though. it doesn't have to be big.

Totally awesome, I like how the flower overlaps onto the picture. Goldbug is going to have a tough decision to make. :hehe:

OK, what I did was open 2 gimp windows, one large (like 900x900) to accomodate the full image (I looked it up on google image search and found a larger less fuzzy picture, some of them were bigger but really fuzzy). Pasted the image in the large window, used the dropper to select the green I wanted from the image. Then I switched to the signature sized window, selected my paintbrush and did the flower background. I went BACK to the large window, reduced the size of the image and copied/pasted it to the signature. While the image was still selected (don't anchor it for this part or you erase the background!) I used the eraser tool on the largest fuzzy edged setting and erased the area I wanted cut out. Once I had all that trimmed down I anchored the image and added in the text.

Someone may have a way of doing all this in only one window, but I find having two canvases to work off of easier.... sometimes I use more than that, and on occasion I switch back and forth between gimp and photoshop depending on if I find a certain task easier in one or the other... for this particular thing I think gimp is alot easier... my favorite thing about PS is that the text usually turns out sharper, but there are a number of tools in gimp that I either don't know how to use or can't find in PS, or if I can find them they don't work the same way... like the blur tool, it never does what I want it to in PS. I really like having both programs.
